I drove 50 miles each way on a similar road out here in the Utah desert and same as you, 40-60mph was the key. Like getting up over the wake in a boat, just floated over those washboards. And that was in my '01 with 12 year old OME shocks. The Edmunds gals just don't know how to drive trucks ... maybe that's why they love the Odyssey, I mean Ridgeline?

Guess I'll add that to the list of parts now. Up to lighting kit, radiator fan, coolant, JD jet kit, fender bag...

Dude the most I've put in that bag is a hat and @lesterb315 's bolts when I forgot to bring them with the skids. Skip the bag and wear a backpack.

I just wear a back pack on my dual sport and dirt bike. Dual chest straps is where it is at. Getting a used bike going again always cost some $$.

'They' (whoever they are) say no matter how well you can ride, just a matter of time until you go down ! One reason I don't ride, I like having all my limbs with fingers and toes attached. Walking and standing upright is also a nice bonus.

.. but don't let me be a party pooper. They also say, you got to die sometime and when it's your time, there's no stopping it. So live for today .... I just want to go out wholly (mostly) intact.

I know it can happen anywhere, but I feel it's less likely to be hit in streets. I don't plan on riding it for distances. Just locally to the gym and other places that aren't far. Need to get something that's better on the gas than the truck haha

Totally agree. Bike owners say it all the time. That addiction to ride though even after big hits I still get back on a bike. I don't have a family to support. That is about my only factor to slow me down one day.

Yeah, most I hear are on the freeways. One guy I know lost his leg on the 91 when a car he was next to blew a tire and forced him into center divider. Lucky to be alive although he no longer rides. I asked him if he had it to do all over again would he still ride ?? ... he's says no, would've listened to his mom.

I avoid mud, so it won't be covered in that.

My biggest fear would be hitting something unavoidable like when splitting lanes at high speeds and getting thrown a long distance and probably ran over a few times. Always see shit like a piece of tire or some fencing on the freeway ... one little thing and you're shittoast !

I see people wipe out constantly at the beach, while on 10 speeds and beach cruisers, and that's just because of a little loose sand.

I got my sport bike fix out of me, lol. I never liked riding on fwy. Did mostly weekend canyons and that was nuts. Just stick to dirt and the streets that get me to the dirt.

That's why I lead off with, "I know it can happen anywhere" :boink: I doubt I'll ride it much at night. I don't drive locally much so it'll mostly be used to get me to the gym and back. Nowhere to lane split on the way to the gym so I'll be mostly safe haha. It's almost always the other idiots on the road though in motorcycle collisions.

I'm sure you plowed through it, could have gone a little slower and gotten less muddy haha.
