So I looked through the first page and didn't see it... being semi lazy here... @CaliRaisedLed raved about the run so here I am, haha.

What is the plan for trail runs and such?

We doing technical stuff or easy stuff?

Hoping for some moderate 4x4ing on Saturday. I'm not very familiar with the trails up there though

Brian, some of those trails are HARD!!! I've never been on them, just know about them. "Gold Mountain", for example, I believe is considered Black Diamond.

    http://www.dirtopia.com/wiki/Gold_Mountain_Trail

I know dirtopia isn't always "accurate" and/or uptodate, but pretty close from my experiences with it about trails that I have been on.

    EDIT:
    There is also places like:
    - John Bull Trail "Difficult"
    - Burns Canyon "Difficult"
    - Jacoby Canyon "Moderate"
    - Grapevine Canyon "Moderate" --> see NOTE below

    NOTE:
I would actually consider Grapevine "Easy", BUT, when you start descending into Lucerne Valley, that hill is lonnnnnggggg. As a matter of fact, you were on that trail with me last year, so you already know. The point I'm trying to make is that sometimes, what's considered Easy could actually be Moderate (probably unlikely most of the time though), but, for sure, what would be considered "Moderate" is actually "Easy"... again, like Grapevine. That is the hill you want to go easy on your brakes... TRUST ME PEOPLE!!! But hey, it's your brakes if you don't want to heed my advice?! :notsure:

Anyways, again, I'll bring the book.

I SHOULD be at the brewery tomorrow and I'll bring my "Guide To California Backroads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails" book so you can look at it.

If you have any trails you're thinking of post them up. Start a conversation and I'm sure someone will have opinions.

    Enjoy the thread.

Lived in So Cal 95% of my life and this is a first time to Big Bear.... Not sure why I haven't made it there yet. But I wanna test my limits for sure. Not trying to destroy my truck but I like a good challenge. No need to firm up details, just trying to get a feel for the run.

Besides I have already committed to building a new bumper for any that get destroyed. On my 2nd front bumper and 3rd rear bumper. They won't be going back to stock... Granted the last front a rear bumper replacements were from when the truck was stolen for a week haha.

LOL, be careful on one and/or some of the offshoots!!! I wasn't there when it happened, but a particular TW member went down an offshoot that was BAD JUJU unknown to him before descending!!!:thumbsup: I'm pretty sure someone will chime in on that one.

The routes haven't been planned yet? I'm waiting myself so I can start watching YT vids and get my fix before being there, LOL!!!

    Hmmmm you mean me??? :rofl::rofl:
Yeah I took the passenger bumper cap off going down one of them off chutes lol. 4.5 waterfall in the center.
Need sliders and some armor for off chutes. Or go try pilot truck trail. Another decent test of the truck.
