Last fillup 17.7 mpg more hwy. than city driving, but both. Truck has about 4,500 miles on it now.

There is a big difference when you are just doing highway driving... it is stop and goes that eat up the mileage. The tank before was just under 15 mpg! I like it when it gets 18... but 16 is closer to average still. 4WD Double Cab, std. bed, auto.

Best I have EVER gotten with my DC 4x4 is 25.04 mpg. This was cruising at 55-60 on the freeway from Fontana to San Diego. It was a slow ride though and I passed only one vehicle the entire time, but I just wanted to see what type of MPG I could get.

    My average is 16.5 though:)

What the fuck??? That's total bullshit!!! No for real, that's bullshit! I had my truck for about 3 months (bought new) befor my first oil change. I had only about 1500/2000 miles on her. Norrmally I have my oil changed at 5000 intervalse, but since I had a cupon for a free oil change (at the dealership!) that was about to expire, I took her in for it. And they did it, so what they told you is bullshit!

Oh, my mileage hovers around 16.5-17 mpg U.S. gallon. V6 4.0L 5speed automatic, access cab, 4X4, TRD with bed mat (their heavier then you think) and fiberglass cap.

Ditto that BS, I have obtained 3 Tacomas from the same dealership... and always try to be there every 3,000 miles for the oil change... including the first. I now have a 2010 DC 4WD TRD OFF ROAD 4.0 V-6 and took it to Toyota Carlsbad at 2,900 some miles for the first change... no problemo!

The truck is just over 4,800 miles and the last two fill ups gave me 16.1 and 16.3 MPG (city/ hwy. combined) on 87 octane gas. Price here in SoCal was $2.999 per gallon (Costco, Vista)... yesterday.

I have the 2.7 manual. Mixed between 20 and 25. Using cruise control, easy on the acceleration. Will be switching to synthetic oil, hope to get even more mpg.

MAR. 28) Last fill up had 60 miles of off roading in the desert, mostly in 4WD, a lot in low range...and 270 mostly highway and country road miles... I got 17.4 MPG. That is GOOD!

The truck now has just over 5,000 miles on it... It is a 4WD DC with the 4.0 V-6, AUTOMATIC.

At this point I have seen that pure city driving I get 15 MPG.

PURE highway I get 18 MPG (driving fast) and 19 (driving slow).

    CITY/ HWY Combined I get 16 1/2 MPG...

I have been very happy with my MPG so far. My truck has only went through 3 tanks but these are my averages.. 1st 18.4mpg (not sure tank was full from dealer, lol) 2nd 18.8mpg, 3rd 19.2mpg[IMG]
Very happy considering my truck is a 2010 DC long bed 4x4
I don't accelerate hard at lights or stop signs and I drive at most 65mph. Mixed highway/city.

That's great! Perhaps the gasoline you guys have is better than gas with the stuff the hippies in power out here in California have added to it!?

87 octane at the cheapest stations was $2.95 yesreday and around $3.19 at most other 'brand' stations. We have Chevron, Shell, Mobile, 76, ARCO, and several independents.

Just finished my first tank with the Scangauge II connected and it said 24.3 MPG on my 07 Double Cab TRD Sport 4x4 (w/ Extang Solid Fold installed).

Previously I calculated an even 20 mpg but wonder if I was wrong or the SG is wrong as 24 seems too good to be true

You can change the oil every 300 miles and there won't be any less wear than if you changed it every 3000. In these trucks the oil does not start getting dirty until 3500, depending on driving conditions. Did my first oil change with 2700 on the oil (44k on the truck) and the oil was no longer golden, but still plenty clear so I realized 2700 was just way too early. Color is only a fair indicator of the oil's condition anyway.

Today's fillup showed I got 16.9 mpg (city/hwy.) and gas is up to $2.99/ gal. at the cheap place in Oceanside.

Make sure you adjust after each fill-up as explained in the manual. I had to offset the "out of the box" mileage almost 10% to get an accurate reading on my SGII. It took me two complete tanks to get it adjusted but now it's accurate to within .2 gallon for each tank.

    ^^

Checking out settings from folks who have an SGII the offset seems to be between 10-11.5%. I'm not sure how much of that depends on model, tires, etc as I'm sure most of it is based on driving style :burnrubber:
