I don't think we need to remove the tie rod ends. In the video they just loosened them. Unless, like so many times before, I'm wrong.

But can you detach the tie rod ends from the spindle w/o removing them? Beats the shit out of me...

I think it can be detached from the spindle by removing the pin and nut from the bottom and will lift right out. But as Danny said "we will find out!"
I will research the shit out of this install since mine will be next. Lol

Worst case you end up with extra bolts. We'll just put them in a ziplock bag.

Umm I don't think so since that spindle has to come off in order for the new one to go in its place.

I foresee a busted knuckle in someone's future.

    I'll bring some band aids.

The bright side is @Bman4X5 has a beautiful neighborhood to just walk off injuries.

I predict @Dropitmore will be the first to pull a hangnail off and need a band aid.

    I fucking hate hang nails.

Also, if my hands start to feel dry from all the Gojo hand cleaner then I'm leaving...

    I don't play that shit.

The outer tie rod attaches to the spindle with a single bolt and Castle nut. It must be detached from the oem spindles but NOT removed from the truck. The reason they are loosening it in the middle is because for Maxtracs you have to invert the tie rod end and flip it 180 degrees as it reattaches upside down. It's all explained in the spindle instructions. Your alignemt is gonna be far from fucked lol. Plan on immediate alignment. I know its Thursday but if you can get some new tire rid ends in time is highly highly recommend it. Moog has greasable ones and they are dirt cheap and come with new hardware. Totally worth the extra 20 bucks

Btw you guys are hilarious haha I'm almost scared to come over now... bunch of men getting ready for a major suspension upgrade and scratching their heads trying to figure out how a tie rod attaches rofl!!! There's gonna be lots of blood based on this discussion lol. I have the same spindles so you'll have something to compare to if needed. Its really not that hard
