    you mean the actual unit?

I don't think many people actually lock them down, you could definitely use some security nuts.

Hmm.... just wondering. I don't have a garage or anything. So it's on my truck 24/7.

My opinion, anyone who is going to steal your tent will just cut that lock. A RTT really isn't a crime of opportunity smash and grab type of affair. The thief will have already checked out the job prior to showing up with a truck to steal it.

Piece of mind. If a thief wants something bad enough, they'll take it. But deterrents will eliminate some of them. What it I drill a hole through the base of the tent and run a steel cable lock through it? Much harder to cut.

I ran my tent on a bed rack for 6 months with nothing but 4 bolts holding it down, most people don't even have a clue what it is, and if they know and they want it a cable or lock won't stop them.
cable cutters and bolt cutters are cheap

It's so damn hard to get my RTT unscrewed with the softopper right under it. You cant even really get a wrench there without uninstalling the softopper first. If a thief is willing to open my gate and softopper, take my softopper down, unbolt the red-locktite'd 8 bolts, then lift off/carry my 100+lb RTT off - more power to them. I'll claim that shit on insurance and get a new one.

If someone wants it enough, they'll take it. Deterrence goes a long way, most theft is opportunistic in its nature.
Also, the likelihood I(or my obsessively attentive ranch/guard dog) hear someone doing all that is pretty high, i'd be flying out the front door in a plate carrier with my AR in seconds.

gotta disassemble the entire thing IIRC. we replaced both floors on a CVT that was damaged when the trailer it was on rolled. hinges, pole mounts, etc all need to come off. plus the tent itself out of the track.. which was the most difficult part. took 3 of us and a large area to get it all out. this was a couple years ago tho so I dont remember specifics unfortunately.
