    Big argument can happen there.

The big "wheeling" crowd want nothing but oem. Its been reported that there is less chance of binding when at full flex and turn. Binding can break the joint.

The other crowds, like myself that do nothing but trail riding, have no issue with NAPA or Auto Zone after market assemblies. They are a great price and they are easy to replace and they seem to always have a lifetime warranty.

I don't see a point is paying 2x the price for OEM and not get a life time replacement warranty.

I'm not going to do anything crazy, most of my driving is just in the city. Just some minor wheeling on some dirt roads.

I prefer OEM. Just me. But nothing wrong with life time warranty amd new cv's whenever it breaks. I have buddies who have them with 0 issues

Amen Brother, Amen. At least for most of us average Joes. We don't have to be concerned with the binding issue of the hardcore offroad gang.

For me, it's a combination of price, quality and availability(or necessity).
For example, when I was replacing my leafsprings, one of the shackles was completely seized to the old leafs. Since I needed the truck to be driveable the next day, I just hitched a ride to autozone and got an aftermarket one. It's literally a piece of steel, who cares who made it?
For shocks, since it could wait and I wanted some good quality, I got the Bilstein 5100's, which while technically not OEM, I would consider them 'OEM plus'.
Spark plugs I got OEM, and I'm going to order an OEM fuel filter. Tie rods and such I usually get moog, bushings I go for Energy Suspension if I can, just because the price and quality is usually as good as/better than oem. I also like to keep in mind that Toyota is just like any other manufacturer and may have had to substitute parts that weren't ideal to meet budgets.

But seriously, if my vehicle is broken and I need it fixed ASAP - yeah, I'll ask the parts counter guy if he's got OEM, but if he doesn't, the truck gets whatever part is in stock.

Highly recommended man. Although I would have trouble paying the brand new full price for them.. up in Canada, they are about $350 a side. I'll try to do one of them night shots tonight to get the full effect

This has been on my list of things to buy since I bought my truck. Ugh it looks super good! Stupid maintenance comes first though, previous owner didn't seem to do anything but oil changes. 248K and not a clue when the timing belt was last done.

I feel your pain, I'm at 199k with the same issue. It's that 'Tacoma's are indestructible' mentality.

Roommate gave me his old fair lead, so put it on just because it adds a little pop to the bumper
