Ok guys.. first problem:

Master bathroom shower pressure is weak, especially the hot water. It uses a single lever to controls the water from off to on to hot....

ALSO

master bathroom sink 1 has a hot water pressure issue. the sink uses 2 levers to control the water: one for hot, one for cold. not much water comes out of the hot water side....

The rest of the house is fine. no issues with the pressure. I was told it might be the compression something? or something compression??? Newb to plumbing stuff... any help would be greatly appreciated. If I can fix it myself for something cheaper than calling out a plumber or calling our the home warranty insurance stuff than i'll do it! and learn at the same time.

 

If you have a home warranty be careful doing the work yourself or highering someone without going through the warranty company. With my home warranty, I have to call them, and they dispatch an approved company to come check out my issue. I pay the co-pay and that's it. I renew my warranty every year as it's saved me from buying a new AC, a new water heater, as well as repairing drywall/wood that was damaged due to a water heater leak.

ok so I swapped the cartridge because someone said it might be a bad cartridge. and no luck..

i'll call the warranty/insurance people to see if this is covered.

 

Did you check the valves under the sink to make sure it was fully opened?

 

He's having the same issue with the shower as well.

but yes.. I did fully open the valve under the sink.. the results were still the same; very little water coming out. Been so busy I haven't been able to call yet.. It is an issue that will need to be taken care of but its not #1 on the priority list. It's up there, just not #1 right now.

 

How old is the house? Do you have hard water? Copper or galvanized pipe? My house is old and had some galvanized pipe. When I remodeled the guest bathroom and cut the pipe it was about 75% blocked with corrosion. Yuck.

 

the house is 2001. I'm pretty sure I have hard water. there was no mentioning of a water softening system and/or I did not see any. As far as the piping, I'm guessing copper because our fire sprinkler system is all copper piping. unless sprinkler system is piping and everything else is galvanized...

 

Ok. Update!!!!!!

plumbing issue is good to go now. I installed some insulation on the garage door. I bought a chainsaw so i can destroy that tree that my wife backed in to.... LOL

 

So what was the water issue?
