It was as I suspected. They actually did not have them "in-stock"...I was issued a refund due to the item being on indefinite backorder from the manufacturer.... (I had already contacted the manufacturer and knew they had been discontinued. Was just secretly hoping by some miracle, they actually had a dusty box in their warehouse and I would be able to snag them.

But, I immediately ordered my second choice while they were still available (from a different vendor...I will not be doing business with go-parts.com again...)

Yeah, ideally I would be doing something totally different. But I don't have the money for a legit retrofit.

I might just open them up when I get them and BHLM them. It would be a good opportunity to reseal them as well to avoid any moisture issues in the future.

I am sure the retro projector snobs will talk mad crap about them, but several members on here have purchased them and I am impressed with the pictures I have seen of the light pattern/cutoff, and hell for $160 instead of $750+ shipping (a quote a got from a member here for a plug and play Morimoto retrofit), I figure it was worth a shot. And down the road, if I want a change, I will use the housing and put a morimoto projector assembly in them.

 

I'm pretty sure @Me. Projekt is running those and is very happy with them!! That's too bad the black ones aren't being made anymore.

 

Have already received an order confirmation from the ebay seller and they should be here by July 26th!

 

I have been watching them for about a year on Amazon, then they disappeared. I found them from Spec-D's website, but then they went out of stock. Then I found them on protuninglabs.com...same ending.

Yeah, neither the chrome or black are being made, but there just happens to be a few more sets of chrome floating around at various vendors. The manufacturer actually linked me to the best deal on ebay for the chrome ones...lol

His post actually is what caused me to finally pull the trigger. For $160 you cannot beat the cut off line he posted!

@08TRDOFFROAD I am running these! I actually emailed the company before I bought them and asked if they had black. they didnt, so I ordered chrome... I'm really happy with them! I paired them w/ an HID kit, and they look great with AWESOME lines.

I'll eventually BHLM them... but for now... they are great!

They are H1 correct? I already have a DDM tuning H1 kit on the way too!

 

yessir! H1, I had to cut a small slit in the rubber boot to fit the HID kit properly, but everything was plug and play.... we aimed the headlights and I honestly have nothing bad to say about them.


I only wish they came in black.... oh well.... future project....
