holy shit! I loved Chester, got to meet him in person too. good dude.. definitely a shame to hear this. :( As much as I hate suicide.. for obvious reasons.. everyone has their own demons that we will never know or understand.

    Cornell now Bennington.. :( damn.

Most selfish act a person could do, regardless of personal demons. Just my opinion.

How did we not see each other?

Makes it even tougher. Can you even begin to grasp the grief and despair a father of 6 must FEEL to think suicide is a viable option?

I always thought suicide was a chickens way out of a jam, a real selfish occurrence. Once Suicide slapped me in my face at home where I lived, it opened my eyes to a depression I cannot even comprehend, and it buckles my knees even trying to understand it.

I have nothing but compassion and respect for the crumbling families left behind, and pray for peace for his soul.

    Truly a very sad story.

We were trying to figure out here at work why 97.9 was playing nothing but Linkin Park starting at about 10 this morning. Finally checked FB and saw the news. Total bummer, one of my favorite bands growing up and even still today. :(

absolutely.. for the people left behind it sure is. For that person tho, it may be the only solution that they see in their dark times. not saying its justified.. its just impossible to see, hear, or feel what they are going through.

    This, 100%.

When I lost my Dad... I was so fucking pissed off at him.. hated him for months.. for years, hell, to this day. I still think about it, and am mad.. why? why not seek help? why not talk to anyone, ME?

myself nor anyone will ever know the reasoning, the thought process, etc of those individuals. its the worst thing a person could do IMO.. but at the same time, especially when its a family member, loved one, close friend (which I've lost to suicide as well) you have that sympathetic emotion for them, because you dont WANT to hate them.. you cant.. but you do. its such a terrible feeling. emotions pulling you both directions.

ok rant over.. this just hits me more now than ever before.. and definitely sticks with you.

I've had 2 too many close encounters, plus a niece who has fortunately failed 2x's. Suicide breaks me down faster than thoughts of Alison. I feel for you brother! I'm sure your Father thought he was doing the best for you.

Sane people do not pass because of suicide, so a sane person cannot begin to comprehend... not one eyeota of the struggle.

My niece... well she just landed a job as a grief counselor for a college. She actually got her masters after a couple lockups! Meds are a great thing when the cocktail is right.

    I'm getting safe!

Sorry to hear man. even attempts (though most are cries for attention) can leave scars... literally. (my ex legitimately tried in High School, in the tub, both wrists. her mom found her bleeding out and she had to recover in the Hospital and Psych for months). None of us ever got over that, and it ended the relationship eventually. its a sickness for sure.. unfortunately Meds sometimes cant help either.

    me too brotha.. me too.

does help to find this common ground though, and to hear of others that went through it. It helps me anyways.. gets it out of my head and off my chest. so many things I wish I could say and ask still.. 4 people in my life have gone to suicide. its something I wouldnt wish on anyone.

To change the subject from shitty... to... shitty..

here's my grandparents house.. insurance will cover the structures but the property is destroyed. first time in close to 40 years that they've been living there anything like this has happened. The property was beautiful too. My grandma is a huge Green Thumb.

My brother's PTSD is bad, the meds help, but after 4 tries and a life in ruins. I get and understand why he feels like that is the only way he will find peace. I can't even be angry at him for it any more, just be there to help him get going again. What kills me is seeing what my mother goes through every time. One day I know I'll get the call that he has succeeded and finally has peace. It won't be any easier for me, but I wont be mad at him.

I had a roommate that did it, but I still am angry at him to this day. He was one of the weaker minded that had a relatively small issue, and just took the easy way out. Leaving everyone else to deal with it.

I get mental illness and depression. Suicide is a flip of the coin. For some it is the only way to find peace, for others it is just the easiest way out.

IN EMS we see the "cry for attention" almost every day. You have to reach down really far to show them sympathy, because we run on the calls were someone is really hurting inside and has been trying to get help and just can't get it (FUCK THE VA!). Your life isn't over at 13 because you BFF stole your guy.

I was leaving Widow Maker right at 8:30!!!! We then went to the opposite end and flew around through the little water holes and tight turns in the back. Didn't realize it till this AM, but I lost 3 of my 3 Gerry cans! Grrrrrrr!!!!
