Nothing wrong with it except it is seldom in the correct context. Some of the titles should be "I asked my dealer to jump through hoops and he didn't so now I'm butthurt and posting on the internet about it" or something like that.

Or I found a bunch of irrelevant TSBs that don't apply to my truck and I'm mad they won't do it.

I also love when people want the fix for an issue they aren't experiencing, but they read about it online so it must be better than what they have.

No, I even said the correct thing to do would be to ask a local forum about specific dealers.

Dealers don't mind doing the work, the manufacturer pays them to do it, so that is also wrong. That said, 99% of the shit you read on a forum does not apply to you or your vehicle and you look like an idiot when you ask for it. You also waste people's time looking into shit that doesn't even exist for your specific vehicle.

Working in the heart of the Silicon Valley is the worst, a bunch of computer nerds that don't know shit about cars telling me how they think it should work.

I hope that last one wasn't a dig against me. If so....:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Dealers might not mind doing the work they get paid for, but you have to bring evidence you need work. Otherwise they aren't going to help you at all.

No it's not lol, just what we see all day here. The evidence of the work you need should be a symptom that can be reproduced.

Depending on which dealer you work at I'll be bothering you soon! Almost time for my 15k service. And a headliner inspection!

Eh i agree it is probably a minute possibility of having an issue but you gotta admit when your 30-40K$ investment is giving you issues when you trusted the company you bought it from it can feel like a hell of an weight. Hence why so many people want to share their frustration with other owners. i don't think its so much bashing the truck as venting frustrations.

On the 1/4 mile road test around the dealer lot, never exceeding 6.7mph. Flat rate is the bane of "fixed right first time".

SOMETIMES (but rarely) an informed customer is a good customer. The rest of the time they are a real PITA

At dealer for 30k mile service. Brakes don't need to be done because they already had to warranty my rear brakes for being faulty at 20k miles. Leading to a complete rear brake replacement.

Dealer said they have had a ton of trucks coming in with HVAC Blower motors going out. They were surprised mine hasn't failed yet. Said They wouldn't be surprised to see a TSB for that soon.

They have my truck on pending status to replace the CPS sensor.

They will not do the rear diff fluid because they already had to replace the entire rear diff assembly at less than 15k miles on the truck.

They won't have to do front diff because I already had to replace the needle bearing and fluid along with it.

So it looks like oil change and air filter.

They also said no amount of oil weeping or seeping is normal on these trucks. I talked with the service manager and head master tech of the dealership who both admitted these trucks have a ton of issues compared to the issues they experienced even on the 2nd gen. The head tech here has been working for Toyota for over two decades.

P.s. head tech also said when he first drove the new 3rd gen he noticed right away how poor the low end Torque, shifting and acceleration feels. I told him I felt it when I test drove the truck but thought maybe it would improve as the transmission learned/broke in a bit. He laughed and shook his head. "NOPE!"

I wish I could like this a million times.
Toyota is a very large corporation that sells 2.6 million vehicles in the United States alone. It's the 3rd largest auto manufacturer in the US by sales volume.

Every vehicle that rolls off a Toyota assembly line is not going to be flawless but the people who have issues respetsent a very small percentage of owners.

Everyone talks about how many people are trading in their "turd gens" for other vehicles and they see so many on used car lots.
    https://www.cars.com/for-sale/searc...d=30031936&yrId=58487&zc=26505&stkTypId=28881
There are currently 3690 used 3rd gens for sale across the U.S. according to cars.com. 2016-2017 models only and 3rd gens have been on sale since September 2015. The past 22 months 341,000 3rd gen models have been sold.

About 1.1% of 3rd gens are currently for sale at dealers or being sold privately by their owners. If you count the 3rd gensvthat have already been traded and sold you can say another 1% were traded. At most only 2% of 3rd gens were traded back in after purchase.

Not everyone that trades their vehicle in sell it because they had buyers remorse either. Some need a bigger family hauler, some need to downsize to a cheaper vehicle, or some trade them in another Tacoma because they didn't like the color of their first Tacoma/wanted a long bed.

The 3rd gen trucks sucks complex is getting old.

If he told you the acceleration/torque wasn't going to improve and you didn't like the way the truck drives. Why did you buy the truck? Did he tell you that after the issues start coming in after you spent $30-35k on the truck. Sounds like a typical salesman if told you after you bought the truck.

All vehicles have issues at some point. Look at when the Cadillac Escalade was resdesigned for the 2015 model year. It had a lot of issues and it costs $80-100k for one of those things. Escalade owners could have bought 3 tacomas on a vehicle with leaking roofs, vibrations, and tech going awry. How do you think they feel after dropping nearly six figures on a vehicle.
I forgot it's a GM product so everyone has low expectations for its reliability.

Nobody told me anything about the truck when I bought it. I was referencing a discussion I had just an hour ago with the head tech.

My answers in bold. This quoted post is a perfect example of what I meant. I know there are issues with your truck, but you are one person. One data point. There are 199,999 other data points out there every year and most do not share your opinion. Please don't quote any data from this website either. There is so much wrong in these threads, mainly is they are one sided without knowing the story.
In my above post I posted dealer provided numbers. Not words like "ton" or "lots" or some such nonsense. I also stated that it was ONE DEALER, and results could be different other places.

200 Complained about the 2016 Tacoma - right? Toyota sold ~190,000 units in 2016 - right?

200 out of 190,000 = VERY VERY few problem is using these numbers :annoyed:

Edmunds 4.5 stars for there "expert" reviews - https://www.edmunds.com/toyota/tacoma/2016/double-cab/review/

Data is a wonderful thing and be used to argues any one point.
