You can go buy all the tools you need for the price it would probably cost for everything to be installed. My guess would be at least 5 hrs of labour from a decent shop, so thats like minimum $500. Thats plenty of money to buy tools. No excuses. lol

does anyone on here know how i can add a new fuse? I want to do bed lights but dont want to just go off the battery and dont really want to fuse tap. I want to use a slot that isnt currently being used and have it have power all the time

Like bringing power to an empty slot in the fuse box? I am interested too!

you would use an empty slot in the fuse box in the engine bay, and run a add a fuse. You would need to have two fuses in the thing regardless if there was an existing fuse or not.
    upload_2017-7-20_8-36-44.jpg
The only other way to do this without this, would be to find the oem wire that runs to that blank fuse, cut it and run it to your accessory.

IF your planing on running lots of auxiliary lighting. You could add something like this to save yourself in the future. A whole additionally fuse block.

There's no way to run the wire from my switch to the fuse? Like with the power wire that gives power to that fuse?

You just connect them. So using the add a fuse, you connect it to your switch. I would recommend using a relay. If the switch is in the bed run it along the frame.
Your + would just be the fuse in the fuse box

Just put some scrap plywood under the jack stands. That's what we did to save the driveway. Works perfect and its cheap.

Put some boards or a plate of 3/4" ply under the jack stands.

by doing so you would be bypassing the fuse. the fuse is there for protection if it shorts.

those add a fuse are the easiest way, the interior fusebox of the 16+ does have one spare but its a pain in the ass to get to where you'd actually terminate

Thanks gents. Will give it a try. Hopefully the slope isn't going to be an issue.

    the the problem I have.
My driveway is too much of a slope to be comfortable doing anything with it lifted off the ground.

You guys do know that you don't have to put the whole vehicle on jack stands right? I did the front and rear separately. Just make sure you block the tires that are on the ground and you won't have issues.

I've never really worked on trucks much so don't feel super confident doing it lol. I'm used to cars.

I know it's likely very similar but just worried I'll fuck something up lol.
Besides I don't have the tools and often don't have the time

Figure I'd be able to do it if I took my time but like I said in the edit, just never have time anymore.

If I'm not working or up north I'm doing renovations.

I'm just sketched out around vehicles that are off the ground. Always have been. Even on a lift I'm always looking for a way out if shit hits the fan. I'll try the plywood in front of my driveway so I don't ruin the street (anymore than I have). When rotating the spare in I need everything off the ground. Other than that I lift half the vehicle up like You said.

I know the feeling. I'm liking working with it on ramps though. It's just having the time to do lift is hard to find
