My 08 trd sport runs fine. Nothing wrong with it. Just tired of it after 10 years. Anyone know when a 2018 can be ordered and when they will hit the dealers lots? Thanks, GTS Bruce

I noticed online today that only certain colors were available on the "build your own". I was trying to build a 17 TRD off road.

I think it's always that way depending on what configuration you choose, back when I did mine it only gave me MGM or Quicksand as my only 2 choices.

From what little I have read they will start building this winter. Why they are so secret about 2018 models is beyond me.

Maybe we can get the Russians to hack Toyota's computers and tell us.

September is pretty common for arrivals, so I expect ordering should already be at hand. Or very close.

Or you could just call a dealer and ask.

I'm surprised toyota hasn't announced the 2018 Tacoma on their website yet but they have already announced the tundra and sequioa. They claim the 2018 tundras will hit the lot in October so I assume the tacomas will be around that time frame.

Maybe the Tacoma recall is holding up the production of the 2018s because all the differential parts they are getting from their supplier are being used to fix the recalls.

I have been to my local dealer. Told them I was trading in the 08 and going to get an 18 as soon as it can be ordered. They looked and had nothing in their system last week. They have my number, email etc and know I am serious. Just wondering if anyone had more info. Planning a trip out west this fall. Would be nice to have the new taco.

According to Toyota fleet sales, it appears the last day to order 2017s was July 10th.

So maybe 2018s can be ordered now?

When I asked a friend and Toyota salesman when 2018's are available, his response earlier this week was "No idea yet probably end of the year."

It would makes sense for a delay if 1) there were recalls, 2) supply chain issue with their vendors, 3) too many Tacoma's in the sales pipeline.

I would like a 4cyl, access cab, 4x4 with the convenience package (rear seats) in the color of my choice (undecided). We'll see what happens.

Go into your dealer and build the exact truck to spec of what you want. It will be cheaper if you don't want all the add-ons like tonneau cover, mud flaps and you can choose the type of mats etc. then you will get a build date and have one of the first ones. Exactly what I did on my 17

Generally speaking new car models tend to come out towards the end of the year. VW's seem to be in October specifically. I don't know about Toyota but what I've seen suggests the same.

The 18 Tacoma's must be delayed for some reason or another.

Delay for production change. Late addition will be turbo diesel option.

Mind if I ask why the 4 cyl? The V6 makes more power and gets the same fuel economy (or thereabouts)

The Next Model Year usually start showing up on the lots by August and it sounds like you cannot even Order one yet.
