It doesn't seem too bad if you want a TRD supercharger.

he's nuts, there are toyota dealers up and down the east coast that can still get their hands on the OE TRD supercharger for around 4700

Uhhh really? They had some stashed away on a shelf? I seem to remember about a year ago when trd discontinued the 4.0 sc and EVERYONE was calling dealers across the country trying to get one and a fit kit. The fit kit was long gone from dealers before the actual sc unit itself became yesterday's news. Then relisted on eBay for a hefty price like it was .22 ammo 5yrs ago. I agree the guy his off his rocker asking that price. But I'm sure someone will pay close to his asking price. He missed his chance to flip it for a profit when Magnuson aquired the rights to produce the SC under their name and not trd.

actually 1 dealer in maine has 2 or 3 in stock, and 1 dealer in tn has 2 left. that was end of may when i heavily debated doing the sc. my truck now has over 100k on it, and i'm wondering if it would do more harm than good.

What's the difference between having an engine with 100k and then installing a SC instead of having an engine with a SC from day one?

    I'm sure there's a lot of variables.
Look at the million mile Tundra. It was still within "specs" when they tested it.

I've heard of plenty of people who have installed them with around that mileage and even more who have had them since day one with more miles than that. I'd say you're perfectly safe. I've got 135k and I'd slap one on mine with no worries if my wife and bank account would allow it.

    A thing or two...
Have a compression and leakdown test done. If they're good, go for it.
