To those of you from AZ:

We were considering taking our 2nd gen TRD Sport off-road in box canyon near Wickenburg. Someone told me that we would be fine in the riverbed with 2wd and 20 inch rims (just bought the truck with them already on). Everything I'm reading online is saying "4-wheel drive required". Do any of you who have been up there think we would be ok making the trip? We have very little off-road experience and are looking for a good starter trail!

    Thanks!!

Without 4wd in some of those areas I wouldn't even consider it. I use to live out that way on the other side of the Hassasampa at the end of Patton Rd. and the roads out there were rough. I wish I had a 4wd when I lived out there, I miss it.

That looks like the "Box Canyon" out by Florence, not Wickenburg. I could be wrong, since I have never been through Wickenburg, but I have been through Florence a lot, and the rock in the video is usually so stacked with smaller rocks that a prerunner would have little trouble getting through.

I think the Butcher Jones Trail out behind Saguaro Lake is fairly easy as long as you stick to the trail...If you had a full time locker it'd be better cause that sand gets soft and deep...do you have off road tires?
