So question, a friend of mine is interested in off-roading, would a 2wd stock tundra that doesn't have AT's be able to do trails without much damage?

The turn radius might be hard on a tundra.
I would tell him to show up and ride shotgun.

Should be fine in most situations. Like bee canyon, lasardi trail and such. idyllwild had a Chevy volt up on one of trails Chan took us on. I lost all respect for that trail instantly!

I've seen a Honda Element up on some nasty trails in Big Bear. I laughed and lost respect for the trail too... Unless they found some alternative route but every direction would have definitely caused some under carriage damage that's for sure.

Turn radius could potentially be tough, and maybe some pinstripes from being wide (if it's the 07+ body style, non issue if 1st gen Tundra). Aside from that should be just fine for the most part

Can someone educate me on the BFG K02s please? I remember reading that they should be rotated every xxx amount of miles? I could be wrong.

You guys rotate your tires that often? I rotate my tires on every vehicle when the tread becomes much more uneven (that is about every 30k).

You're actually losing "mileage life" out of your tires by doing that!!! Just trust me on that one!!!:fistbump:

"Cupping" can be from many different things like: 1) bad shocks/struts 2) alignment 3) simply lacking of the rotation of the tires etc etc etc. Again, it can be caused by quite a few things, but those are the most "main issues" that cause tire cupping.:fistbump:

Btw, IF (NOTE: SOME tires are "directional"... well, not most of your off-road type tires, but... anyways, just as long as they're not directional is the point) you can, "cross-rotate" your tires if there is any form of cupping involved!!!:fistbump:

I ruined a set of new tires with a bad alignment on my 07. I had two new fronts put on and didn't bother with a alignment. Tire size I changed to was a little smaller, but I took a trip to big bear, pavement only and by the time I got off the mountain and home. The inner tread was bald, I was pissed as af.

Yeah but it's probably the equivalent to running the A/C. On my truck I don't care, I run 10-15 year old tires and they get swapped around because I run a bit of negative camber on my front end for the desert. My car, it gets 30-35 mpg with old bald tires so losing 1 mpg doesn't bother me that much.

LOL, well, since you put it that way!!!:laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

The highlighted RED makes sense as well!!! Not much you can really do their either way? You could still try to cross-rotate to help a littttttttle bit though!!! :notsure:

As long as I have tread on the front tires so I can turn, I'm all good!

Ok, so I am not crazy. I thought I read somewhere here on the forums that you gotta change out the KO2s had to be rotated more often than 5k miles.

    Yes.
But what condition are his tires and he's not trying to cruise up with like some 21 inch rims on rubber bands that are half bald?

And some of the turns would require a little bit of forward and backing up as other have said
