Took the bike on its first road trip to LA. Going up the grapevine was a bit difficult I wonder how people tow 5000+ lbs.

That's why they call them accidents. When you try to do things intentionally, they usually turn out better. Get well!!

So I want to post a bit in this thread. Question: Anyone else riding a 29+? My pic below. In other news, my finger is healing... sort of. It would probably heal better if I quit riding 10 miles of single track every night. What happened you ask? Going down a narrow downhill trail, front tire hit a 3" round stone, I bobbled a tad, my left ring finger that was wrapped around the bar decided to sacrifice itself as a cushion between bar and small tree. Of course when that happened I launched myself over the right side of the bar (physics... it's the law) and, while I won't bore you with pics of dirt and rock rash on the whole side of my body, my finger is particularly pretty so I included a pic lol. I also am a big old biker and have been riding for years. 54 yo, 6'4" and 250 lb. I lose going up hills but win going down! Enjoy the pics of my finger and bike.20170719_163536.jpg 20170519_191240.jpg

What I meant was that the bigger and more spectacular crashes that you have time to think "oh this is not going to end well" seem to leave you with minor cuts and scraps, while the smaller and boring crashes are the ones that lead to visiting the hospital.

    Sorry man, that sucks.

I guess we should all post up our stupidest bales... I ripped my nuts open on my honey moon. 42 stitches on the ol bag o beans. Morphine made it not so bad. But, still had a po'd wife when it wore off. :anonymous:

    Where's that?
Had a nice mid-ride swim here at Stampede Reservoir near Truckee on Monday. No rope swing but we did have the lake to ourselves. Next time I'd drive there and ride the trail down and back up, so we could cool off at the end of the ride. 18 mile round trip all single track, from Hwy 89 and back.

    it's Annadel SP. Great riding.

I did the ride to Stampede with my wife a couple years back. Great ride, love the area but totally agree with you on the start/stop point at the lake.

^^ Ahh, I've ridden at Annadel quite a few times, even swam from the dam it didn't recognize the view from that angle. Or is there more than one lake there (in the SP, not by the campground)?

Sweet man! I rode that trail a few weeks ago when I was in Reno for a job interview. I'm going to post a few pictures from my ride there. I actually ended up doing 31 miles on the emmigrant trail. It was only supposed to be a 18 mile ride, but I parked further down the road than I should have lol. Needless to say I was hurting at the end of it, but all the streams and rivers were nice to cool off in on my way back to the car. Here's my strava route: https://www.strava.com/activities/1046356057

I am actually moving to Reno in a few weeks, we should meet up and ride sometime!
