This is the "top of the line" exhaust for this truck. Nobody else sells a full system like this. Therefore, it should have been tested just a bit more!

I'm sure i'll be very satisfied with the system once it's on. But I'm afraid it'll take another week to get it on.

    1) I'm not buying it...for this exact reason. It's overpriced for what you're receiving.

    2) It's not a full exhaust, it's a midpipe and catback setup.

    3) Bro

    1) I'm willing to bet a full system from a shop with mandrel bent tubing that's bigger than stock will be more expensive (but it will probably fit the damn o2 sensor)

    2) true, but the only thing stock is like a 2 foot section of pipe containing cats

    3) do you even bro, bro?

I mean it's about as "full" as it gets with the headers being cast into the block :notsure:

Just about any manufacturer would have installed some pipes on a few trucks to test. I've seen before where manufacturers have sent out messages on forums or emails and asked for volunteers to try out their product. This simple test on some different trucks would have eliminated these problems. And no, it's not the "normal part of modding your vehicle", as someone said. If it's normal for you to have problems when you mod your vehicle, then you are buying cheap products and don't know what you're doing. Maybe some research?
All that being said, I like urd and I will be buying this exhaust. I just think they rushed it and I bet if you asked them they would admit they screwed up. No brainer. I'm sure they know they messed up and if they had to do it all over again they would do it different.
The cool thing is, they are working with their customers to fix it and standing behind the product.

All the other cat back systems start behind the Y pipe as far as I know and sound like shit. This replaces the two back cats and the y pipe and sounds fucking great. I don't think the issue arose from not testing. I think something happened that allowed for the position of the bung to get moved (quality control issue) during manufacture. I have seen picture of AT trucks that fit correctly and you can clearly see that the bung is not in the same locations as the defective ones. Yes I was upset it didn't fit and my truck sat for a week waiting for the issue to be resolved. It has been resolved to my satisfaction and I will move on. Customer support with URD was above average. Not sure how many of the sold systems had this problem. I think I know of 3 of us now. I know of two ATs with no problems. Thankfully we have TW to share this information saving at least two people from installing the complete system prior to noticing the issue.

As others have said, they tested several pipes on people's trucks.
    "Maybe do some research"
Hot damn, that's a great idea! Too bad I never thought of that or maybe I could have avoided rolling around on these square wheels my whole life...
Oh and cheap products? Tell that to the 10k I have invested in suspension alone homeboy.
I'm in the process of building a Baja race truck and am only really on here to try to help people from my experience and thousands of dollars spent. If you really wanna be a dick despite all that then go ahead but don't call me when your exhaust doesn't fit right ;)

One final thing, I WAS that guy who tested the Spec U. I bought the first one and was the first to have it installed. I worked with Gadget on the fitment personally when he made the y pipe and advised on how to improve for the Spec U. The Spec U fit perfectly on my MT DCSB Tacoma, maybe you should grow a pair and drive a MT instead

Anytime  if you asked me it would be a tremendous waste of several different resources (time, effort, and of course money) not to share what Ive learned at this point if it can help people to avoid wasting time with parts they might end up replacing at a later date for better ones. Hence my endorsement of the Spec U over other exhaust. If it takes an extra week and a few phone calls to get the better performing setup at a cost of only 100$ more than a comparable y pipe and catback setup, that still seems worth it to me, plus the opportunity to talk to whom I'm doing business with and get to give direct feedback is cool to me but I don't speak for anyone else in saying that

7SX class, it's a modified production class limited to 4000cc motors, and with the stipulation that stock suspension geometry and mounting points must be retained, though they can be reinforced and dual shock setups are allowed, just no L/T, other than that its open as I understand it. And yes I've got quite a bit left to do, install of my Corbeau Baja XRS seats, harnesses , roll cage, fuel cell, bumpers, and a few more odds and ends.

My truck is SCORE tagged. I know the specs well. You've got a long, expensive road ahead of you but the experience is wonderful.

More or less? I mean if you couldn't tell yet mine didn't stay stock for very long but I haven't motor swapped it or anything super crazy like that if that's what you mean :D
Yeah I'm talking about racing a third gen if Jay Leno can win the mint 400 in the sweet Camburg Tacoma then I like my chances in the Baja with a truck of my own creation

Yes sir I do, but that's what I'm after. Life changing experience that would be nearly unique within the industry I want to work in, I figure this would be a pretty damn colorful feather to put in my cap if I want to own my own garage one day and build everything from custom parts all the way up to custom builds for discerning customers.

You're a fabricator? That makes things quite a bit more achievable. Still, bring money. Lots of money.

I've broken/fixed damn near everything on my truck over the years. Feel free to PM me if you'd like some insight, and good luck!

Back to the topic. The stock passenger side exhaust pipe is the same exact toyota part # for all models (auto/manual, all 3.5Ls, reguardless of bed size and edition (TRDOR, TRDS, Limited, etc.,)

Therefore, the O2 sensor should have been in the same exact spot on every single pipe that's the same location as stock. Sounds like a QA issue.
