There is a bolt in the door jamb behind a round black plug

 

Is it easy removal and put back on? I bought my truck used and would like to remove door handles so I can get my machine polisher back there to buff out the scratches previous owner put in.

some liquid compound and finish glaze hand rubbed would save you some time and potential damage unless your a detailer. Finish up with a good wax. But yes it's an easy removal and install there is a plug in the door jamb (level with the handle )also if you have the "fancy " handles . Very easy.

 

I watched that repair video 3 times. Now what was the question?

 

Compounding by hand won't get the job done. It will clean the scratches to make them less noticeable but it will not remove the scratches. I need a machine to get in there to do some heavy cutting to buff it all out.

Will look into removing the doorhandles. Someone from the detailing forum also brought up the idea of using a wheel polishing cone pad to get behind there. Since my handles are all painted might get me a nice polish on every surface that way haha.
