My Tacoma stalled on the highway and shut down. Crazy day, very dangerous condition.20170721_160938.jpg
Just dropped off at the dealership.
Too late for them to check anything.
    Will update.

My fluids are good, no over temp, except for the weather in Dallas.
I think I got hit with the Crank position sensor.

@TACO#1 Does your Vin show up on the recall list by chance for the CPS issue?

Why does it say over heated transmission when the CPS fails?

If your transmission warning came on like that, it had to have gotten really hot and likely low on fluid. Stalling has been generally linked to the CKP sensor but not with that warning re: trans Temp/fluids...

I'd be really concerned about long-term damage on my transmission....

I went to the dealer yesterday. They said the recall is in interim so no current "fix." I called bs because everyone is installing newer cps and everything is fine and dandy after the new one. He still came up with some bs answer. So I ordered the part anyway. Online is the cheapest if your vehicle isn't on the recall for those of you who aren't covered. Mcgeorge Toyota parts online. $91
