Sweet, yeah I'm heading south now to try and get that project knocked out and will be looking for something in the CDA area to camp at... While not getting too far off course to get down to Magruder.

Just had the homeowners of our rental house show up and ask if they can start moving their things into the garage next weekend. Apparently they are wanting to move back in and the property management didn't give us 30 days notice. This should be fun.

That sucks. Hopefully ID has the renters back on things like this.

Well. My lease does state we are to be given 30 days notice and the law states I believe 15 days written notice. We will see.

Nonetheless, It's really awkward when the homeowner shows up at your doorstep at 9:30 at night.

I hope you said no to this "request ".

Lease agreements generally protect the landlord but they also have protections for the renter. Read yours so you are certain of where you stand. Remember the owner also has an agreement with the management company they have to abide by.

They should not be able to break your lease without cause. Are you behind on your rent? When does your lease state the agreement ends? Is it a month to month agreement?

Our signed 1 year lease agreement is up on July 31st, after that we are "month to month". So as of August 1st I guess you could say we are on a Month to Month. Well apparently the property manager didn't get the memo that the owner wanted to move back in the 31st of July.

We let the home owner know we need 30 days notice and kind of left it at that last night.

Well low and behold I get an email from the manager today stating "(owner) called me last night. It looks like he's wanting to move back into the property at the end of AUG. I can get you official notice next week, however I wanted to at least give you a heads up as soon as I found out so you guys could start looking.".. <- as soon as you found out huh? That's strange, I found out last night when he came knocking on my door.
The homeowner told us he wanted to start moving his things in next weekend. So moral of the story is, management fucked up.

Obviously not the ideal way to find out, but at least we now have 30 days to find another rental.

Exactly. The homeowner was as shocked as we were when we told him we had no idea. Unfortunately we rented this house at a really good price and finding something similar is going to be difficult. Built in 09, 3Bed 2 Bath, 2 car garage, nice development, cookie cutter home for $1,100. Not anymore..
Same. I've only moved 3 times in my life and I'm already done with it. I'm ready to buy a house.

I have lost count how many times I have moved.

I would love to get a house, but the way O&G is its hard to plan to settle anywhere just yet.

Fuck I wish I could break this lease somehow.

Read it, reread it, talked to a lawyer. Nothing I can do unless she lets me out of it.

I've explained my current situation, even offered to stya 3 more months and she can start advertising it and she can keep the deposit.

Pretty much, we had picked this place, then 2 weeks into it we split.

Find me a decent engineering position over there and you got yourself a deal lol.

    @Tacoma.Gal
Wife and I got our first house with 0 down, and 3.875% fixed apr on a 30 year loan and without mortgage insurance. The provisions of that type of loan have since changed, and it was almost 6 years ago. You can get 0 down loans still, but you will have mortgage insurance. Best advice I can give you is go through a mortgage broker for a loan. Mortgage brokers work with multiple lenders and can find a better rate for you. We also got our original loan before getting married in case that helps you too.

We've moved too much, if I have to move anymore Im just starting over..;) We got basically the same run around from property management. They had the house we were renting for sale and one day the home inspection person came in and said we had to get out of the house for the inspection. basically ended up the property management didnt let us know and had an offer on the house, luckily we already found a place to buy because we had the feeling the house was going to sell soon. So we got out in time to close on our new (2007) house and get out of the rental.

Also, on the note of meet ups...

I am planning the Inland NorthWest meet up and camping on my property. It is not a wheeling trip. Based on popular vote, it is set for Sept 9&10. I'll be here on Friday the 8th for those who want to be over Friday night too. More info on this thread.
