    You talk too damn much.

Levi didn't portray this strong enough so I will .... a 2.0 coilover will NOT do just fine for you unless you go with very minimal lift, no added weight (bumper, skids, winch, lights, etc.) and do not off road your truck. Yes, it will be "fine" for some amount of time but you will wear them out very fast if you do anything other then just put them on your truck and continue to daily drive it on pavement. You shouldn't compare anything you know about your low rider, 4 banger, 5 lug, 2wd truck to your current one.

Saw coilovers are fine, not great, but fine. You need 2.5s with #650 Eibach springs if you plan on adding no more weight and running 2ish" of lift. You do not need resi. You will want ucas and may even need ucas even at 2" of lift. Remember, you only care about where your wheel is at at full bump. If you can set the ride height to 2", cut the cab mount, beat the firewall and with stock ucas make your 33s not rub anything while stuffed then you don't need ucas. That's gonna be hard for someone else to tell you whether or not that's possible on your truck.

Many people do just fine with strut assemblies only so you don't have to buy rebuildable coilovers but you won't find another part on your truck that's worth the extra money more then the performance difference of the best strut assembly to a good coilover. Ask any of these guys that went from an OME lift or 5100s and Eibachs to a King, Fox or Icon coilover and I bet they tell you it was the best extra $500 they've spent on an upgrade for their truck.

If you go down the rabbit hole of offroading your truck, you will regret not buying the correct parts. Once you decide "my truck isn't a pavement princess anymore" you should be focused on building it to off road, not to on road. That's gonna start with you NOT BUYING 2.0 COILOVERS YOU CHEAP FUCK!!!

Depends budget. If you've got the coin I'd go king's. If not billies and ome springs will do just fine

I'm thinking about OME, with the money I save I could get a winch to pull me out when I get stuck... because I went with OME.

Budget is not #1 on my list. Finding the best kit/options for me and how I use my truck and doing it right from the get go is #1. I'd like to take the time and figure the perfect set up and such before I rush off and buy some shit just to buy it.

Make my list of what I run, will have to save, then do it at once. Would like to get in on Black Friday around here, always a nice chance to get some savings. Get my stuff installed over winter and be ready for a March 2018 LBL meet.

    all of this, yes.
I had OME shocks with 885 coils. It was "fine". Rode good offroad and a bit rough on the street. I've heard that 5100s with 885 coils are a much better match for ride quality. My 2.5 Kings ride far better both on road and off. With the weight of a bumper, sliders, and a heavy 1/4" thick front skid, the 650# springs seem perfect. If you aren't going to add a few hundred pounds over the front end, the 600# springs might be a better choice. You can always upgrade the springs later once you add more other stuff.

Depending on your budget, go with what chris said: 5100 with 885 coil for less money, King/Icon/Fox for more money. I think @beertimecontinuum has the Boss kit from Toytec and I don't remember where it falls in the pricing.

So I went out to the garage with every intent of changing u-joints on the truck. After 2 minutes just looking at the toolbox and sweating in the heat, I said F this and went back inside. :burp: Might just go back to sleep. Too hot out to do anything today.

If that's the case. King's, ucas, ext rear brake lines and shocks, dakars, sliders, ifs, either spacers or wheels with proper offset to run 33s.

I actually wouldn't go with Icon at all. King and Fox are pretty much the same shock. ADS is another very high quality shock.
You really should invest in driver mod if you're blaming your OME suspension for getting you stuck . Don't let me deter you from going that route. I didn't say it was a bad idea, I didn't say it was a scrappy kit, I didn't say you shouldn't get it. I said a high end coilover is far superior and if you're gonna invest money in your truck to go off-road, investing in the best suspension should be very high on your list.

Let's take into consideration what most people do/want in their truck. A daily driver that's comfortable on road and capable off road. Most people don't want a rock crawler or mud bogger. Most don't want a loud cab or things rattling constantly. Most don't want rusty bumpers, to have to take a grinder to the wheel well or replace bushings and uniball every 2 years. The majority of us just want to be able to ride some trails, not get stuck in baby mud puddles and have our trucks look nice after we wash them. Nice riding suspension and off-road tires makes all of that possible and very enjoyable. Bumpers, skids, sliders, winch, recovery gear, lockers, lights, etc .... are all nice to have but the truth is most people don't wheel hard enough to need any of it or enjoy any of it past "it looks cool". I go months at a time without using or needing any of that stuff on my truck but every time I get in it and drive, I use and need my suspension and tires. Hell that was all I used, needed and emjoyed the whole weekend at March LBL 2017. Haha

Where are folks planning to watch the eclipse? Any good high up remote spots (low on crowds) that are being considered close to the center line of totality. Off topic, for sure but I've gotta think there are some good hard to get to spots that our tacos could tackle to get some good 360 views from some elevation...
