Yup. I will be out Tue-Fri of next week. Looking forward to leave the hamster wheel of work behind and enjoy some time abroad.

Morning all! Been out in the backyard last night and this morning digging trenches to add a couple sprinkler heads to address a few dry spots in the grass. Digging 30 ft worth or trench, 18 inches deep,in 90 degree weather, in full sun has been exhausting. I should have gone with my gut when I designed and installed the system 3 years ago and put the two heads in that i am adding now. Tried to save a few bucks and it bit me in the butt! Oh, well...live and learn! Things will water much more efficiently now. Have everything almost buttoned up now, just have to run to the hardware store and pick up a riser extension the right length so I sent the new head i added in the middle of the lawn at the right depth/height so I don't cut the top off with the mower. And fill in around it and replace the sod...the hardest work is behind me.

I definitely do not envy you. Are you doing it all by hand, or did you rent a trench digger?

Progress pic. Need to soak the trench good with the hose when I am done to help settle the sod back down. I learned as a kid, if you don't put all the dirt you take out back in, you end up with settling problems later On!

That's terrible :bananadead: All I was doing yesterday was changing my oil, and I got sweaty enough doing that.

I was out in the front yard trimming some shrubs & palm trees and by 10am the heat and humidity was so bad I felt like I had a plastic bag over my head. Another day with triple digits in south Tx.

To cool off, I am now sitting on a swing on the play set, holding my phone above water level, letting the sprinklers soak me!

It has been pretty humid here too (for the desert) and we have been getting the monsoon flow from the gulf so we get pretty nasty, violent thunderstorms in the afternoons because the heat cooks them up with all the moisture in the air.

My parents have a pool. I lived in that thing during the summer as a kid! They're just a lot of work to only be able to use four months out of the year.

Just finished watching a very frustrating game of MLS soccer...it is one thing to have your team lose or draw if they are playing crappy...but they weren't! They played phenomenally, but were bent over and screwed by the referee's!!! Game ended in a 1-1 draw. Any other soccer fans in The Lair?

I've watched a game or two while on the night shift at work! I can definitely understand the frustration of some shitty calls.
