@PHTaco what Handheld HAM are you running? there seems to be some prime deals on some and I'm debating ordering one rather than running a full setup wired into the truck. Looks to be some discounts with Amazon prime. @trekker did you ever pick one up? I think I remember you saying you might grab one after using @PHTaco's at jambo.

I have yet to buy one but I think I'll pick up a few tonight. I'm gearing up for my summer trip here in a few weeks.

Also... sub-a-dub-a-dub! Love your pics man and your truck is badass. Can't wait to hit a trail with you again buddy!

Thanks, I think i might wait a little for only a $20 savings. I'll be ready to push my truck farther than I have been willing so far once I get my skids next month!!!

Thanks. The travels are just getting started but sadly I've used most of my PTO for the year. I also just found out that since taking a new position I can no longer trade days with other employees which is killing my plans to get 5 days off without using PTO. Trying to work with my boss to just work different days, I have to come up with the right reason that benefits the company so she will let me do it. It helps that I always do things for the company like working 3a-2p this week to train our overnight shift...

Thanks, I want to make it more capable than stock without going with the full blown look of a heavily model truck. I may end up with the full look one day but I'm extremely happy with it so far.

My service advisor said once it showed they would squeeze me in right away so I'm hoping they will fit me in tomorrow or at the latest Sat morning.

A/C got fixed this past friday! So happy to be able to DD my truck again.

Today I found a new Co-pilot. 8-10 wk old Husky mix. He is currently called Cabo but I will probably change it when I come up with a new name. He seems to enjoy the truck from the ride home.
*Edit: The pup is now named Teq.

Well thought I would get my Maxtrax mounts that I got for my KBVoodoo midrack installed today before some night wheeling tonight and then possibly tackle my OBA install. Got the mounts installed to the rack just to put a small scratch in my paint from the Maxtrax Mounting pin being to close to my bedside. I figured a Temporary solution would be to flip them upside down so they wouldnt touch my bedside. That worked to save my bedside from scratching more so I test fit the Maxtrax on them just to find out they are about 1/2" to close and the Maxtrax wont fit on the mount. At this point I'm already seating my ass off so I pull everything off after taking a few pics to show KBV.Close up of Useless Maxtrax Mount.jpg
Hopefully this issue with the mounts can be quickly remedied. I've also decided its too damn hot to do the OBA install. I'll just wait until its cooler to get that done.

You have 2 or 4 maxtrax? If just 2 would some sort of rubber grommet/spacer work on the under side of them to keep them off the bed?

Just 2 for now but I'll prob get another 2 this winter. The Maxtrax dont touch the bed but the Mounting pin bolts that do, I can cut them shorter to get the separation that I need. The real issue is that the mounts are to close together and I cant spread them farther apart based on the design. I'm waiting to hear from KBV once he gets back from a camping trip.

Skid tracking recieved, should arrive next week! Then paint and install by labor day weekend for ATR.

Talked with kbvoodoo and apparently you are supposed to drill new holes to attach the maxtrax mounts. I'll have that done before ATR also.

This is a little disappointing that you have to drill new holes for their mounts on a rack that is literally full of holes to get their own mount to accept the maxtrax. I'm looking at hopping in on the trekpro group buy thats going on and am trying to figure out how people are getting their traction devices mounted on our bed racks. Keep us updated on your progress!

I'm a little disappointed that the mount requires drilling also. The long bed version would propably work without drilling. They could have also extended the base of the mounts by 1/2"-1"on each one and it would have fit in the slots for the short bed version. I'll post pics once I have time to drill. Friends have been needing my help with other stuff on my days off preventing me from getting it done.

Skids arrived on Wedn and Thurs. Need to get those painted and this morning I went to Muffler King on 78 in Garland to have my exhaust reroute done. Happy with the outcome and the price seemed good at $100.

Still need to install my Maxtrax mounts and Hi-lift mounts on my bed rack Before ATR over labor day along with buy a hi-lift and a Fire extinguisher for the truck.

Maxtrax and Hi-Lift are now installed on the rack!

Had to drill holes for the mounting but it's nice to have it all mounted for my trip to ATR next week.

@Zac of all trades the hi lift mount works well for what I needed/wanted!

Drilling holes for the Maxtrax mount wasnt bad. I stillwish they would have designed them to just bolt up to the rack though.
