No... this is bad info. Unless this 2017 truck has no map sensor like most all other modern vehicles. Or the tune omitted that in the fueling. Does the tacoma fail to read atmospheric pressure?
Most any modern car will have an input of atmospheric pressure through a map sensor to adjust for air : fuel curves on the maf sensor input. Higher air pressures result in more fuel at the same voltage on the maf as compared to the lower pressures to maintain the same air to fuel ratio. Your afr doesn't change based on altitude. Old carburetors, older versions of fuel injection, sure.
However I would be very surprised if the tacoma didnt have a map.
So if you maintain the same afr regardless of altitude, and your tune is made for 91 octane at 12.7:1, you will typcially hold or fight to hold near 12.7:1 for 87. Which may be too hot causing detonation, then damage.

I got my OVTune file 22 minutes after sending in my ECU read. That was at 8:31pm PDT on a Friday night. That's great service from @OVTune! Thanks!

I asked OVTune the same question as my brother and I both have 17 Tacoma's. He told me to purchase the additional tune file would be $300. I thought about offering a service to flash other members trucks. Im not sure it OVTuned would like that and I don't want to be responsible if an ECU got fried.

I'd like to see some logs with afr's. @OVTune do you have anyone running with a wideband?

I thought about the same thing for some people here in the Denver CO area, only issue I'd have is them being pushy about getting the "newest" version flashed at the drop of a hat, or if they needed to flash back to stock for whatever reason right away. Didn't really want to deal with the drama.

As you may or may not have noticed, from this thread.... People are generally difficult to deal with and offering a flashing service as a side job may bring more headaches than it is worth. I, personally, would prefer to not insert myself in the middle. Too many issues.

Another to consider is that you are relying on the customer to supply the CORRECT file to flash. Execpt, when you flash it and it turns out to be the wrong/bad file and fucks up their ride, who do you think they are going to blame?

Finally got the1.01 tune successfully loaded this morning. The email from ovtune said trans file will be coming soon. I haven't driven it yet but wanted to give my feedback on why I decided to jump on this before I did a first drive. I've never done any tune in any trucks I've owned and this is my first taco. From day 1 I didn't like the way the truck put the power down. All my previous trucks, when you push the gas the truck accelerated more the more you pushed. This tacoma didn't, I push the gas and kinda lean forward expecting it to start to pull but it didn't. While still holding the gas in the same position, finally it would start to pull once it got to 4k rpm. That's when I knew there was some funny electronic crap regulating the throttle and/or timing.

All I want from this tune is real throttle control. I'll be driving all day today and will post my impressions later.

Btw, it's an auto with 20k miles on it already.

You won't be disappointed. Shifting may still be annoying without the trans flashed, but the throttle response is night and day. I can't wait until Matt has time to work on and release v1.02 and can address VVT and eliminate the crazy stuttering and make everything smoother.

Ok these are full throttle datalogs from around 2k to high 5k. Also to note data was logged in 3rd gear with load in mind. This is 90 degree weather. Long term fuel trims are @ +13 because of my intake...you want this as close to 0 as possible. Will probably go back to stock box until this can be tuned out. Air fuel ratio is close to 12 WOT. These logs were gatered on some secluded interstate fyi

What intake are you running? +13 LTFT is quite a bit. Seems you're running much leaner than target. That's a concerning lean spike around 3500 rpm in the first pull too.

Im running a cheap ass AF Dynamic tube with an Aem dryflow filter. Spike is to be ignored, i lifted on throttle.
Keep in mind mass air flow has increased with no adjustment to fuel trim tables, thus the +13 ltft.

If your MAF scaling is accurate, the increase in airflow shouldn't have an impact on LTFT as the requested amount of fuel is based on load calculations which are derived from what the MAF is reading (along with DA calculations from MAP Sensor, temp probes, etc). Increase in volume = increase in fuel to hit the target. The +13 is adding 13% on top of that requested fuel value because it's learned you need more than what is being requested for that load. Given the rock solid steady AFR, I'd assume your intake is not turbulent, but your MAF scaling may need an adjustment. 13 isn't crazy bad...but I was taught to tune LTFT not to exceed +-10%.
