    Question for all you.

How much do you think I could sell my wheels and tires for as a complete package? I had the tires listed for $800 alone.

    • BFG KO2 265/70/17 with Discount Tire Certs. Purchased 5/12/16 at 71403 miles on the truck, 1 tire was replaced at 78202 miles, and another this past May 10th 2017. Truck now has a little over 83,000 miles on it.
    • Stealth Custom Series Ray10s Matte gunmetal with rock rash on the lips
    • Would also include a 265/70/17 BFG Rugged Trail on a Tundra wheel
Neighbor just bought a LB white Tacoma and wants new wheels and tires on it as it came with a set of chrome MB Wheels and some all weather street tires, but he will need to use it offroad for his job.

Told him I was looking at selling mine, but would do a complete package for him if he wanted and he seemed very interested but just wanted a price.

Would need to procure some new or used 17" wheels in the mean time to put 34s on though until I could grab a set of 5 Ray10s or something.

I would think you could probably get something like 1300 for it as set. I could be off but guessing cost new would be $1700+. A $400+ discount for used with 10k miles seems fair to me. I've thought about doing the same with a buddy that has a 4runner. It would help me go to 285's sooner and he likes my rims even with the damage.

Yea I was thinking around $1300 to $1400 or so. But that would pay just for new tires essentially.

Paid $780 originally for the SCS Wheels, but those are down in money because of condition.
Paid around $1,200 for the tires.
So brand brand new would be about $1900-$2000 for the set.

So maybe $1500? since it would also have the full size spare with it as well?

Sounds fair to me, maybe even start a little higher if you think he will try and work a deal by getting it lower. He might not try and low ball you like I would. :anonymous:

    Hello everyone!

Im new to tacomas, new to off roading and new to DFW; been here for about 9-10 days. I wanted to take the truck somewhere off roading that wasnt too hardcore. I saw I missed the meet yesterday. It'd be cool to go out with experience people to learn about it too. I live in Northeast Ft Worth/Keller. Does anyone know of an easy place around here i can just drive around? Or is everything out here pretty hard? Im looking forward to the next meet, so I can start going out with y'all and meeting new people around the area...

Nice pics. Fun time wheeling with you. Glad you were able to make it out even with family visiting.

I'm debating selling my complete set for $1,500 for all 5 matching wheels and tires just FYI. I think the secondary market is pretty weak when there is damage unless you have someone that shares your same taste in wheel/tire combo and plan on using/abusing them as well.

Welcome to TW and DFW. Most land in texas is privately owned. You can find some dirt roads when you get out of the city but to hit trails its really only offroad parks. We just went ot Bridgeport OHV yesterday which is North of FW. It has easy to hard trails. Any mods to your truck?

I don't think he would, he knows I wouldn't try and rip him off on something. Heck, gave him my old mud flaps from the truck along with my bed rail mounted ammo can that I didn't have a use for anymore yesterday.

Interesting... what do you have on the truck now?

I think $1500 is a good starting point with him. Looking at some 315/70/17 tires and they are all around the $250-$300 range as I am looking at BFG KO2, General Grabber X3s, and some Falken Wildpeak MTs. But would want to go ahead and buy 5 of them plus 5 matching wheels.

Not yet. I literally just bought the truck in early July, but I can't wait to start though. I have the off road version, so whatever comes in that is all I have. I need to start learning about mods and what I can/should do to it, so I can start putting them in. How often do y'all do the bridgeport run like yesterday? I wanna try to join next time.

Is bridgeport somewhere you can go alone, or is it recommended to be in a group for that place? Even if its for the easy parts...

We seem to get out at least every other month. As far as what mods to get, its best to get out and drive to see what you need to be able to do what you want. If you plan on wheeling sliders and skids should be at the top of the list to protect you truck. Everything else is just to make it more capable. A stock 4wd Taco is very capable on its own. If you want to limit what you wan to do mod wise stay off TW and never meet any of us. As soon as you come to a meet you will need all the mods you never knew about!

Not quite 33's. 275/70/17 St Maxx on fuel trophy wheels. Scratches to both wheels and tires though. Not sure if yours are in better shape so may command more $.

Even with a little damage I would not take any less than $1k to $1200 for a set of 5.

    Welcome buddy

    We had a blast

Oh I bet!! I've been a car enthusiast my whole life...i know how that goes! I'll definitely be coming out!

As far as the plates, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Tacoma Off Road come with skid plates?

Also, bridgeport, is it an OK place to ho alone or not recommended?

Nice, I've been thinking my next tire will likely be the Red letter Grabbers. I like the KO2's but since I dont have offroad tire experience I'll probably change it up with every new set for a while, unless I find after having a couple different ones that one of them stands out above the rest.

They never do if you wheel. Unless you have a second set of gold ray 10's for mall crawling and making people jealous.

The stock OR has a set of tin can plates but not true skids that will protect you if you bash them hard enough. I was planning on skids as my third mod to the truck after sliders. 7 months later I still dont have skids and have been relying on my stock ones. I've bashed them quite a bit offroading but I'm always nervous and taking things very slowly if I think I may hit them. It hasnt happened very much since I lifted my truck but I will have a full steel set next month. It really just depends on if you wheel on trails that cause you to hit them. I'd rather have the added protection and peace of mind, especially if i'm out solo.
