Ok all. I got an answer for the T-shirt idea that was mentioned. Here is what he sent me as a priliminary quote...

If you print it on a athletic grey T shirt with black ink. I can do it for $5 each from size small to XL. For 2XL its $6 each.

Lmk what you all think. Need to get him a design soon though.

    Great info, much appreciated @WileECoyote!
There were a few I've been lookin at, BaoFeng and Yaesu.. however I didn't realize that even with a handheld i would need an exterior mounted antenna. Good to know, I'm gunna get on that.

"blank ink" Do I need to smear lemon on it and hit it with hot air to see the picture?! LOL!!!:laugh::rofl:

I like "MY" idea, of course!!! :D:p:rofl::rofl::rofl: Silhouette the front/side shot of a truck with the words "3rd Annual San G. Trail Run..." wrapped around it?! :notsure:

Exterior antenna is NOT needed for a handheld, but it would definitely help. Also, your more "respected" HAM companies, such as Yaesu, typically are harder to "modify" to TX (transmit) outside of the "normal HAM bands". The Baofeng "red army" radios are usually already to TX outside of the normal HAM bands, although, there are some radios that you will get that you need to "unlock" with software, such as CHiRP. You just need to get the programming cable for the Baofeng radio, which isn't that expensive and download the CHiRP software that is "compatible" to your radio and it's firmware that it has. I've never had to personally do this, but know about it. I know there are others that have actually had to do this and it was really easy for them to unlock their radio!!!
