Weird, I would have thought the same as well. Maybe there's a small battery in the headunit solely to keep the settings the same, because that wouldn't take much power.

Perhaps, because I tried again with the battery but fully disconnected this time, let it sit for an hour, and all of my radio channels were still set. I also pulled the fuse for the ECU.

Weird. On a related note, did that help your starting issue?

    A thing or two...
Given that radios are becoming more and more like full fledged computers, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they've started putting small coin batteries in to maintain settings, like on a computer motherboard for retaining BIOS settings. They really should have done it sooner as there is no reason for the radio to lose its mind when the battery is unhooked. I hate having to reprogram my radio stations.

Hell no. Lol, it hasn't fixed it yet. I know the ECU can take a few days to fully reset so ... :fingerscrossed:

Well I tried black plastidip because I had success with black coming out smooth. I started early yesterday morning and it was looking really good. I ran out of plastidip so I had to go get more and didn't finish until the afternoon. Parts are rough like sandpaper. I'm thinking it's got to be heat/humidity. I put it on just to see how it looks. Switched out my chrome Westin steps for some black stainless steps yesterday morning also.

Today was my first time using ANYTHING other than a wet rag under there.

It was just one single packaged 303 wipe that i managed to use on both after wiping them down thoroughly with water and a towel.

Yeah I usually just use water and a washcloth for everything. Figured I'd use something a little stronger for the engine bay though.

I know some guys use things in there

And honestly I would like to experiment with something else also

Just makes me nervous spraying in there for some reason

Maybe when my truck actually gets dirty once I will do it

Looks awesome. Haven't used a claybar on mine yet. How difficult is it? Or is it just time consuming?
