I have the TRD cat back exhaust and have no rasp or drone and it has a quite pleasant sound IMO. When I added the URD y-pipe last February it did not add any rasp or increased sound levels. I would really like to add the spec u y-pipe and mate it to my TRD cat back but it looks like that is not a possibility. Gadget was great and sent me the updated version of his y-pipe but it still has some clearance issues. By the way, it is possible to have a tuned exhaust without having equal length pipes since each exhaust pulse from each cylinder has a finite length that can be calculated. It is just the easiest way but not the only way to produce a tuned exhaust. The first picture below shows the clearance for my first y-pipe while the second picture shows the clearance for my second y-pipe. i may have to find a shop that has a mandrel bending machine to fix this.IMG_0245.jpg IMG_0375.jpg[/QUOTE]

Interesting! Maybe it really all comes down to the massive magnaflow muffler supplied with the spec u in that case! My setup was much louder with y pipe and a straight through magnaflow muffler but maybe you're right and that's just due to the muffler design! And you are correct sir, technically you could also utilize two different sized y pipe sections to balance out back pressure from one side to the other!

Took an impact driver with a 10 mm socket to drive the bolts off that shield. Was a pain in the ass.

Day 2 of the exhaust even my wife confirms it seems to be breathing better. She also feels a response difference and merging feels easier.

Silent under 2500 rpm, bit of a burble 3000-4000, over 4000 rpm sounds incredible. More sports car like than anything.

Sadly nothing will ever sound like a good old V8.

I probably can't help much, I just added a urd ypipe to my TRD cat back, but I do hope the holes on your flanges all fit the bolts because they were to small and we had to use a dremel to make them bigger. It was off by a few mm.

Make sure all the bolts are loosely fitted so you have some wiggle room to adjust if needed.

Did the exhaust come with exhaust clamps? If not buy some. I thought they were included.

It's a grease shield, prevent flying grease (from front drive shaft slide part) to hit the catalysator.

I would assume so....is the other hanger on the other side being used?

Hand tight for from Y pipe, get it all aligned nicely then snug up. I reran my O2 sensor wire on the right side to make it prettier and give it more clearance.

Use a Jack for the next set of pipes/muffler for easier alignment. Saves you from doing what I did balancing on my knee.

I'm done. The whole thing fits like shit. But no leaks and it sounds ok.

For anyone who said it sound stock below 2500 RPM, that's a damn lie.
