I can't recall, will this fit the 3rd gen 4runners as well?

No, different frame horns. Similar to the 98-00 though. But the mounting is still different.

Not sure if they will expand it or not.

yeah the frame sticks out a bit on the 4 runner like your taco.

That said, the mounting points are still different. So nothing is direct bolt on/swap able from a 3rd gen t4r or 1st gen taco.

I wonder if there is a way to make the mounts universal for both? I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

I asked CBI once about their bumper for thie 4runner as i liked it better then the taco one to see if they could mount it to my taco. This was the reply:

    "Hi Monte,

Thank you for contacting us. The mounts are different for your Tacoma as compared to the 4runner. It would definitely take some work to get the setup to fit properly and unfortunately our jigs do not allow us enough flexibility to try and make that bumper fit your Tacoma."

    So...not sure haha

Tyler stated previously that they would be verifying fitment on a 3rd gen 4Runner.

Not much. They were scrambling to get the FJ stuff done for the FJ Summit in Colorado. Which was this last week. This project should be their main focus now. Front prototype is supposed to be cut I think by now. Just waiting for welding and test fit and such. I'd bet end of august for a good look at them. Sept for ordering hopefully

That's what I'm hoping for anyways. Granted I don't work for them so...don't take my word for gold.

    Odds and Ends
    Quick update:
Back from FJ summit and ready to move on with all the new projects.
Front bumper is cut and we will be assembling F/A sample in the coming days, rear design is complete and cutting in the next week or so. Were close, really close.
I expect little to no issues with the front bumper, the rears with gates are always the problem children, hoping this one goes smooth.
