Has anyone taken the time to discover new legit per NFS trails. I know of the jeep site that Jim Snell posted has the go to ones. I just uncovered another 4 Legit open trails in the Cle Elum Area. They have start and exit points but other than that you have to use your maps and beat the brush. I would like to check them out here in a month or so.

4x was always about the adventure to me. Not the flawless mapped and waypointed course.

4 years working for SPAWAR in San Diego. Best job in the USN. They "requested" my attendance through some fucked up rule left over from when I had to sign up for the draft right after the Viet Nam war. Lucked out because of my physics degree, and some other specialized experience, and landed a plush job with special boats group. Was actually pretty awesome experience.

Originally signed up to be an Army helicopter pilot (CWO) but recruiter said " you have only one attempt at the F.A.S.T. test and I can't tell you what to study". Scrapped that idea.

Took the Nuke test for the Navy, passed it, enlisted as E3 at Great Lakes during the winter. Somehow landed in a ceremonial unit versus rifle company. Meant some gravy duty during boot. BE+E and EM"A" school. Didn't make the "cut" for Nuke school, shipped out to a minesweeper built in 1954. Minesweeper navy is said to not be real navy as a crew of 60 has E7s pulling up lines when mooring. Two tours to Persian gulf, Barge Hercules, Qatar, Al Jubail, and Abu Dhabi. Armament was a total of .50s, grenade launcher, and a stinger missile or two. Navigating mine fields at sea with a wooden ship was scary as hell.

Was offered lots of cash or some high faluting education; bailed on all that.
