Reinforced the surround for the bamf grill. Came out much stiffer than I expected for the amount of fiberglass and locations I did.

But before that a stupid brand new torque wrench that didn't work at all snapped a wheel stud

Why can't I handle nice things??

I should note that there is some on the front side hidden by the painted piece too. I basically only did it where I could get a large chunk of cloth.

Cloth is tricky in there. I'm just gonna throw it in the next time we chopper gun a mold.

Made the removable battery and controller box. It ain't the prettiest thing. But it'll do the job. Gonna find some temp controller fans to push / pull air

I just sat down and figured out I have spent $3100 in mods on my truck. That includes money recovered from wheels and tires I sold (2 sets of each). So for all I have done I am still at $34500 total. Not too bad. All I have left to buy is a good front skid plate and an under hood light kit and a tool box light kit and what about upgrading head lights and tail lights. Geez does it ever end. Damn you TacomaWorld.

UPDATE $3175 mods for a total of $34575 thanks to @mattgecko

Installed a All Pro Shackle flip kit yesterday thanks to @MidnightRebel07 for the hookup! The back looks so much cleaner without the big u bolt brackets hanging underneath the axle!

De badged. Painted grill and bumper caps with duplicolor bed armor. Then took her to the dirt for the first time. Pleasantly suprised how well the auto lsd and diff lock function. Amazing capable truck for just 2wd. Loving this fucking truck so far.20170723_111932.jpg 20170723_111956.jpg 20170723_111242.jpg

Started out yesterday, drove up to St.Louis from the middle of nowhere Fort Leonard Wood, MO. While in route I picked up a 3rd Gen Limited grill for $50. Sanded the chrome bezel and emblem, hit them with 2 coats each of rattle can primer, satin black base, and finally 2 coats of clear. Went back and forth with the combination, as I couldn't decide which way to go after dropping the TRD OR grill, opened up to the TW crew for some feedback, and this is where we are tonight.

Went back to do some test fitting and layout. Gonna run 4 fans in the box to both vent and draw in air.

I really like it! And the price, only $334, almost a steal. Seems like a great option!
I have to wait a few months, my truck is less than a month old and has under 500 miles on it...
