Tweaked something in front end today

Not quite sure what I did but defiantly bent and or knocked out alignment big time. Still driveable but barely (front tires squeal just driving straight down the road)


Any ideas on what is damaged?

Look at your lower control arm. I would think several things are probably tweaked but the control arm damage should be visible.

 

That's photoshopped, I've seen a few shops in my day. But really WTF did you do?

 

I was having a good time too till this happened haha. Have to get it home and up on jack stands can't tell if the Lower control arm bent.

 

No it's not photoshopped. I wish it was. All i did was wheel over a couple rocks that I had to give it a lil skinny pedal to get over

 

Tie rods?

Can you get a pic of the rear bushing mount area?

 

Can't tell, too much mud and to close of a shot of the lca.

 

Most of the time that's where it will bend if the wheel takes a shot

 

That's some whacked camber for sure.

I'd tow it to an alignment shop. After they're done snickering, they'll tell you what parts need to be replaced before they can do anything.

I'm betting both LCAs are bent.

 

Sorry the pics suck but nothing to me really looks bent.

 

At the very least, if nothing is bent, the alignment cam(s) shifted to the outer limits.

Unless you want to totally trash your tires, I'd not drive that more than a couple of miles. At low speed.

 

That's what I'm thinking. Looking at the alignment cams on LCA one is turned way more than the other so hopefully it's that. Good thing I'm getting 33s soon because I had to drive 30 miles like this and smoked front tires.

 

Are the first gen outer tie rods supposed to be bent like that? Can't look at my truck - at my folks' house.

move in reverse a few feet before parking and see how it looks

 

I'm thinking it's the lower control arm camber adjustments that got knocked out of whack because honestly it was in 4 low going over a couple rocks on a trail nothing crazy. I'd be pretty damn disappointed in my Toyota if that was enough to damage something- but hey still didn't need a tow.

I have only looked at truck while parked and still muddy but nothing appears to be bent or broken. The outer tie rods have always had a bend in them as far as I can recall when I did the front suspension.
