Day 73 and counting! Maybe I will get to cross the two and a half month waiting period? Let's hope! That's sarcasm by the way.

    The nightmare is finally over!

78 days later and i finally got the call earlier today that my truck is ready. All 6 parts were needed to be replaced according to the inspection. Those gaskets were back ordered like crazy. Otherwise, i'd have picked up my truck at the beginning of the month. Regardless, they also replaced my battery and detailed my truck.

I want to thank everyone that had pitched in their experiences during this recall period. It's helped me alot and I appreciate all of you.

Search for "intermittent trip odometer reset" on this forum and the thread will show up. There is an official TSB open, but document the hell out of when it has reset - then they will fix it. But they will act dumb if you don't have documentation of the periodic resets. Good luck! (He who documents wins."

JFC, your ability to dismiss issues (or the severity of issues ) is getting pretty ridiculous.

You'll accept your dealerships word that they've only seen 6 trucks come in for it, but when someone posts a picture of dozens of trucks waiting for the service, your response: that's not 2800 trucks.

How else are you going to minimize this issue?

    I was being facetious...

    Forgot to add--they recalled 228,000, 1% would be 2280...

Yeah, it was late, my dog was sick, I ate my homework, etc...
Truthfully though, it is hard to detect sarcasm through the written word sometimes. If you read some posts, sometimes the far out stuff is what they are serious about!

That was my first week without my Taco last year! They replaced the entire dash. Just like the rear end, I took it in for a routine maintenance, and they told me they were keeping the truck, and put me in a rental! When will I learn?

    Here's my experience from yesterday.

Dropped off my 17 OR for the 10k service.

No recall but she was seeping. Showed the service guy.

Was told they may be keeping the truck. Wait for a call...

About 3 hours later, get a call - "Truck's ready."

Replaced the gasket, the drain plug and topped off the diff fluid. I haven't checked for sealant yet. I will tomorrow.

Ps. What the eff happened to Photobucket?. I had more pics and one I took of the invoice...I gave up.

Can someone recommend a decent host?

    So here is my issue with the leaking diff;
-took the truck in on May 5 to have an oil change done
-was told that the diff was leaking and there was a recall therefore my truck had to be kept and I left in a Rav 4
-Fast forward another month, I had to return the rental and received a 4 door SR tacoma
-Fast forward another month (by this point I moved a hour and a half away from the dealer) and I received a Subaru Impreza (currently driving)

-Noting all of the above, I was irritated about my truck being kept and baking in the hot sun (truck sits in a garage at home and parking garage at work). As time past, I started to become more and more irritated about my truck sitting in the sun and of course not being able to drive what I bought. But there was a recall so, I kept my cool.

Fast forward to July 20th, I received a call from the manager stating that they messed up and my truck was never under recall therefore I could pick it up. I was pissed at this point considering nothing was done to my truck and it had just been sitting in the sun for almost 3 months. Noting, I also asked them on two separate occasions once to the manager and service person to please wash my truck so the dirt on it wouldn't bake in and make it a pain to clean. Both of which reassured me they would but they never did. I asked the dealer about the leak and he then proceed to tell me it was moisture which I called bullshit on and said it was seeping. Long story short, I'll be picking up the truck on July 25.

Wanting to request compensation for payments and also a full detail since holding the truck was pointless and a waste of my time and money to drive 3 hours round trip.
Still debating if I should call corporate.

Either your truck was on the list and they made a decision to just retorqe wash and turn you loose, or a big mess up, if you look up your VIN does it show on the recall list?
