Saw several posts discusing new TRD CAI, so here it is (sorry crappy droid pics). Dealer bolted on the new and old design so we could hear and the feel the difference. I opted for this one because it considerably quieter, and honestly I just prefer the look. And yes, its CARB legal according to the box, paper work, and dealer (not that I care I'm in GA!). Oh, and take notice to the "GM its time to change/clean your filter reset button/vacuum gauge"

does it use the same filter? That way people can still run the AFE dry filters in them?

edit: also how easy is it to get to the filter? lets say you wanted to trow on a pre filter on real quick before wheeling?

Different filter, this is a flat filter, you can see it sandwiched in b/t the box (filter gasket is red).

Snap two clips loose, and filter comes right out.

I like that it has a vaccum gauge, so you can tell when the filter is getting dirty. How much was that?

Dealer owed me tube steps in the original deal, I didn't want them as I ordered Avid sliders, so I took the CAI instead. I'm guessing $3-400 though.

Yep :) Its hard to say how much power difference it makes though, S/C, CAI, and Borla were all installed at the same time. Other TRD CAI was just too loud for me, this one is only loud when you want it to be.

This looks way better than the old design. Where did you get it? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Did this just come out? I only see the old ones for sale.

    It's alright. :p

Same here, as soon as I figure out who's selling it at the moment. Time to take a trip to the local Toyota dealer and see what kind of butt raping price they can get.
