with the 2 inch blocks in the back. Did you have to change the shocks? Something longer for the 2 inch longer length.. I'm only asking is because i have a 2.25 front readylift coming and the 2 inch rear blocks. I have the TRD off road 4x4

Been meaning to post this for a little while, but about two weeks ago, I decided to finally pull the trigger and put on a rear recovery point should I ever need it. Initially I was looking at the Smittybuilt recovery hitch, but a coworker/buddy has a decently modded 2nd gen and on his rear is a recovery ring that I hadn't seen before, and when I asked him about it he said that he just picked it up at Lowes. So on a whim when the girl and her family were out of town and I had some free time to myself, I decided to make the trip to Lowes to just see what was up. I ended up picking up a Reese recovery pitch and hitch pin, and a can of plastidip to give it that "Bro" look, as I wasn't really feeling the chrome on it. All in all it was around $35 for the recovery point, pin and can of plastidip, after mil discount. Its a solid piece of metal and does the job just fine. Not bad for an on the whim type thing.

Hmmm. So I've had a trimax hitch pin with my beaver step. How much does the pin matter in using the step or any recovery point? Supposedly Amazon says "test specifications exceed 32000pounds"

I put the extended 5100s in when I put the wheelers AAL, so no I did not have to change when I added the block to the lift.

I have that same lift with stock shocks and no problems but I don't off road except forest service roads. I plan on new lift in the future. If you off road you should get ext length shocks at some point.

As long as it doesn't throw codes you'll be fine. We have 4 cats, that system deletes 2. The average joe doing state inspections won't know the difference unless he happens to frequent these forums.

Though I agree the emissions testing in VA is kinda dumb, at least isn't done like CA over here.

USAA covers the repair that I am having done today. From my understanding I would have to pay by $500 deductible for a new one.

Got busy hacking and cutting. Made a special tool as well to make sure I got a straight line and since the bedside doesn't allow for a typical measuring tape this worked really well. PM if you want more details.
