Exactly. No salt issues on my other 16 I had that I got new. That one had about 26k miles on it and it looked new, traded that for a 14 silverado like an idiot, didn't like it so found another used 16 but in manual this time so I got it. Nice price and with a little care I'll have it looking new again. No big deal. Just glad I saved one from the northern salts.

Thanks for the details Dylon, much appreciated!

It's too bad someone got their undies in a twist in the other thread, but anyway I digress.

    Cheers,

Here is a rough data log from a trip today. Hilited cells are when the truck was in cruise control.

Still having problems with damn the transmission. Shifting like hell at 70 mph.

On the plus note, MPGs are noticeably better. 50 MPH according to this is 30.5 MPGs!

Here is my calculated MPGs per speed:
    • 45 MPH - 26.2 MPG
    • 50 MPH - 30.5 MPG
    • 55 MPH - 25.0 MPG
    • 60 MPH - 21.5 MPG
    • 65 MPH - 18.0 MPG
    • 70 MPH - 18.0 MPG
These are rough estimates, I didn't hold those speeds very long.

Used OBDFusion / Carista app to gather data, so its not the best but its what I have for now!

    ECT PWR: off
    A/C: on

Maybe you already mentioned it, and if so sowwy, but how are you gathering those logs? Is it anything I can gather using the OVTune stuff?

Wtf did you do to get bagged from that other thread anyways?!
I'll be following closely, definitely like the idea of more MPG, but even if it just started the same with the increased power and throttle response, as well as improved shift points... Kinda makes you wonder WTF Toyota was thinking if this time will give more power, throttle response, AND BETTER MPGs.... What was the point in detuning it?

I posted too much BS while I was in Hawaii. The mods decided to use their internet powers to click a button and ban the only guy running the tune/exhaust. Oh well, not my lost.

I think MPGs will steadily stay higher than normal. Let's not forget my tires at 3.3% bigger than stock, so you gotta figure that into the mix.

The shift points seem to be slightly improved, but I think that's because the ECU sees more power.

V1.02 will change the shift points more and hopefully make this thing perfect. Still got some fine tuning to do.

Yeah, no clue why toyota went this route. Maybe to not make it "too" powerful and get good gas mileage and start killing Tundra sales.

Ehh if the BS was an issue then lots of people should have been banned, and it should be temporary... But whatever, this place is... Interesting in regards to mods.

As far as the mpg, is your speedo off? Your tires are larger so you're actually traveling further so your mpg would be higher... Unless you are calculating distance in some other way.

I'm anxious to get the tune, but gotta wait a couple months... Hopefully going to do the tune and BP51 lift at the same time, and hopefully by then an 87tune will be out as well.

Thanks for your feedback about the tune and exhaust... Oh one more thing, was it you who was going to do a Dyno with the tune and exhaust? You just going to wait until version 1.02 is out or do one now?

Yeah so if the truck says I'm getting 20 MPG I'm actually getting 20.66.

No problem. Yep, I was supposed to. But the exhaust got delayed, and gadget at URD wasn't down to cut cost for a dyno. Oh well, his lost. Some people won't buy a performance product without a dyno or proof it works. I was going to give him that and it didn't work out. And Matt at OVtune said he already has a guy who can do the exhaust/dyno at the same time. It's easier since he'll be live next to the truck, rather than on the phone/email how I was going to do it.

Not exactly right as you know I have both and had it on before you because of your little trip. More to come from me but I think the exhaust and tune are not playing well and is causing drop in power. I wish you would have ran the tune alone longer so you would have had a fully learned ECU with just the tune. I will provide more feedback in the threads on the combo once I have worked some things with OVTune. To me power is down after adding the pipe (ran tune about 400 miles prior) and because of the drop in power shifting is crazy again. I have little over 600 miles on the combo putting me above 1K for the tune. I will be pulling the tune out tonight to see how the pipe is with stock file.

It drove way better prior to the exhaust with just the tune IMO.

You're right. I didn't spend a lot of time with just the tune. But I'm not feeling any decrease in power.. weird.

How I am detecting the possible decrease in power is it's inability to hold gears like it was with just the tune. Shifting more often on little hills. One of the things that impressed me about the tune, was the ability to hold gears longer. Like the bridge you talked about in your review. Try that same thing now that the pipe is on.

I'm going to flash back to stock and see how it is until he releases the exhaust/gearbox tune
