I put on my bilstein 5100's a couple of months ago and I noticed that there was a slight squeak coming from the front left wheel base. I couldnt tell what part it is coming from. Any suggestions?

All trucks will eventually squeak -Chinese proverb

JK, but where I start usually is wet the area down with a hose real well and drive around the block real quick. If it stops squeaking when wet its probably some dirt or something causing extra friction in suspension components. If you're handy with a wrench, pop out bolts on strut, Control arms etc and just apply a good thick grease to moving parts and make sure everything is torqued properly; also check that all your lugnuts on the wheel are tight.

If you're not too handy with a wrench, get some WD-40 and spray the rubber bushing at the bottom of the strut, other components etc... it'll work for a while.

Determine whether it sqeeaks from bumps or just being driven.

That squeak is coming from both front 5100's. It is very annoying with my windows down. it is every time the front shakes. any ideas how to solve it?

Sway bar shouldnt touch the coils with the 5100's.

i just took at look at mine and the swaybar is really close to the coil spring on both sides, to where i could imagine theyd touch eachother over a bump or something when the suspension travels.

Check the coil spring for marks from it touching. If its touching, it will eat away at the paint on the coil.

Its not the sway bar. Its the actual part the the wheels are connected to. the bottom part is squeaking. [IMG]

Is it comming from where it mounts to the frame, or the spindle?
