As far as I can tell, the engine oil temperature works, but was just running the engine to program it. Need to drive to make sure. This thing is cool!

    Regarding SGII
Seems to work (I didn't try HPFP Duty Cycle). Thanks for sharing. Keep them coming.

Linear Logic has been great... they fixed my problem with Trans Temp and my ~10 year old SGII; except that, I ran their data logger on my truck to see what other x-gauges they could possibly find... they didn't find any... that was six months ago... never heard anything back... now all these are showing up?... and I specifically asked about fuel levels. They did say they only logged "Toyota specific" IDs. Maybe someone finally logged generic IDs?

Stopped by advance and they had the scangauge 2 for $20 off on clearance. I think I paid $141 and change with tax.

The tf1 and tf2 codes worked and I have pinned the thermostat.

What exactly is the tf1 monitoring? The pan temp? It stays lower around 180-188

Is the tf2 monitoring converter temps which seem to be higher. 180-200ish.

I also wanted to express my gratitude to the members of this forum for being freaking awesome!

Just went through the whole thread and I think I understand what t1 and t2 are. Towing a 3,500lb camper to the beach in about a week(300 miles) so I can monitor my temps and have peace of mind.

After pinning my thermostat open, I'm running 150°F-165°F on both. I'm not near as hot as I was before. Before I pinned it, both temperature sensors would get up to the temperatures you note, but since pinning, I'm running much cooler.

So, TF1 and EOT are suspiciously similar... within 2 degrees all day today... four trips totaling about 40 miles.

I know they are physically near each other; but, I wouldn't expect them to track so closely. I know the the ATF is cooled (and warmed) by the engine coolant... is the engine oil also?

I noticed the exact same thing and was wondering the same. I'm guessing it is all (except coolant) is about the same temperature, but I do still see spikes on TF2 when shifting a lot.

I am reading around 160-170 when it is 90+ outside temp. I only have the standard atf cooler.
Do you have an upgraded cooler or running a second one?

I have shifted into third and run higher rpm and it does seem to cool back down?

Tf1 stays wa more stable, while Tf2 fluctuates more so I am assuming it is the torque converter temp.

My goal is to keep atf around 200 or lower when towing, but what it the oh crap temp for the torque converter?

From all the graphs posted on here, when you get to 200°F or 220°F, you really start to degrade the transmission fluid life. My issue is that it peaks as it's downshifting when I'm pulling into work and I turn it off at 199°F. I don't like leaving it that hot just to sit there and not have a way to get the heat out of the transmission, but I don't have many options except pinning my trans cooler open.

I am seeing the same temperatures while driving that you are, it's just that I don't like the spikes over 200°F and don't like leaving it hot after a drive to work.

So, has anyone come up w/ another idea besides pinning the thermostat open like changing out the thermostat to one that would trip at a lower temperature? Is that even possible? Not sure if there was some drop-in aftermarket thermostat you could set up so that I could program my cooler to run at 180°F instead of 190°F.

I know this is a Scangauge thread, but here are the raw PIDs for TF1 and TF2.

I assume Scangauge was tired of people taking the PIDs from their website so they hid them behind the 221AAA and 221AC0 codes that they are giving out now.

Also, due to the equation only using the first value of the output, A, you are getting about 1 degree Fahrenheit lower than actual output from the sensor. There is a B value coming out, as well

Unless you bypass the radiator flow of the transmission fluid, I don't think you will run much cooler than 195F with a 180F thermostat. There is nothing wrong with running World Spec ATF at 195F. That isn't hot for WS

Good point on the radiator flow... it would heat it up anyway. It's not that's it's bad... just rather it run cooler if possible.

I see that Toyota has designed it to run at 195F so that's where I leave it. My fluid only gets to 210F in the pan when towing in third gear when the converter is unlocked. It comes out of the converter at 235F but then goes right into the cooler and comes back into the pan where it sits at 210F. I'm not worried about it there

Unlocking the converter is really the only thing that takes it passed 200F. Normal driving keeps it around 195F constantly

I use the OBD Fusion app on my iPhone and an VeePeak OBDCheck BLE+ Bluetooth OBD II scanner and these work on my 2020 Taco. Also, if you get the OBD Fusion app, which is a tad pricey at $10 (but seems to be worth it at this point with options and customization abilities) also comes with a 'Toyota 2020 Enhanced Diagnostics' for another $15. Which has pretty much all the options for monitoring as a part of it.
