Thank TW members for that Idea. I never would have used it either but works like a charm. Just soak a rag and rub the goo off.

This just makes me cringe - taking the saw to the sheetmetal. You're a brave lad indeed!

So obviously no chance of the chemicals in the stuff damaging the paint. That's crazy! No haze afterwards or do you guys have to wax it up when you're done? That really is amazing. I may do this on my car too. Those fools put the dealership badges and I hate them. The badges, not the dealership. LOL

I agree but these stock bumpers are a joke in an accident. I got rear ended in my 2nd gen and, after removing the other drivers paint, there was barely a dent to be found. The other old pos car was a total loss. If anyone ever hits my 16 rear end I will pay the difference to get one of these real bumpers. Otherwise the girly man in me could never do that with a sawzall.

I just washed off the wd40 and let her ride. Will wax that area on my next full detail. No harm to paint whatsoever. Would not have taken the risk but so many members have proven it is ok.

Really nice rig. Which brand is your front skid. Worry every day a rock will penetrate my stock cheapo skid. Like the ones with filter access.

1-Up rack! Pretty happy with it so far, holds the bike very steady even over rough terrain. [IMG]

Got the Warn Zeon winch installed on a Hidden Winch Mounts mount. Had the boys at my local 4Wheel Parts shop sell me the winch and install it. It was their first time ever putting one of the Hidden Winch Mounts in and they did a crappy job of cutting the opening. Luckily, the guy I work with there said "I'll order a new plastic section in and we'll re-do that for you" before I even had a chance to complain.

Figured I'd pass along some updates from the guys who are fabbing up my RTT carrier/bedrack.

I would have liked a COTS one but nothing is available that allows for a lower-profile [below cab height] rack that works with a stock tonneau cover. We designed and are in the process of building a rack that holds the RTT 15" off the deck, hinges at the cabside to allow the cover to flip up, and has a removable rack and rear hoop. Here are some in progress pictures of the rear bracket and hoop.

Probably because Toyota is still working on the bugs and haven't figured out a fix yet.
