You should tell 4wp to give you a refund on the labor, that cutting job looks like dog shit. I won't ever take my vehicle there.

Yup, as some have said @RobP62
WD40 works wonders to get the sticky gum off, I also use it under the hood after I spray wash the engine bay I squirt WD40 all over and wipe off, instant shine.
Make sure you use a hefty fish line when you debadge so it won't keep snapping on you.

Went to a Big 5 and $2.48 for a spool of 40lb test line

I'll paint it black and find a good home for it.

Fuel economy, power, comfort. You know, the things you can't get in a Tacoma... :stirthepot:

Hilarious that you bought a Tacoma expecting fuel economy and power.

My fuel economy in my 16 V6 is awesome at routinely getting 18-25 mpg. The power is adequate considering the mpg's I get and the comfort is great. I do think I am one of the lucky ones. I sure wouldn't buy a full sized truck for fuel economy unless I bought a Ford 3.5 ecoboost that does have power and great mpg's.

    I didn't say that's why I bought the Taco, that's what I traded for...

Yes, you are lucky. Sea level, flat surfaces and sustained speeds below 60MPH will net you decent Fuel economy. 650 miles in on the GMC averaging just over 20 MPG, mixed driving. Averaging +5mpg over the taco in the same routes over the past week. I passed on the 3.5 because it's a ford... with turbos... and the MPGs really aren't that great in real world driving, especially with a trailer in tow. Everything has it's trade offs and to each their own.

I averaged 25 mpg on 2 trips to the mountains which in Virginia is not flat nor at sea level. Do that in a full size chevy. Good bye. Go to a Chevy forum. Don't let the door hit you in the azz.

So much hate. Good luck with the new truck. Always had a warm spot for GMC ever since my dad had one when I was growing up

RetraxPRO MX Cover, bought by Tonneau Factory Outlet here on TW for a good discount. Awesome cover, just gotta deal with the foot taken up by the canister. I don't mind with the 6' bed though.

Cool story. I'm not a Taco hater, or a GM fanboy, just really let down by this last Taco. I'll stop in from time to time to check on your ornery old ass!

Woah... You went full-size and picked the gmc over the Silverado??

WHY? Better deal? If i was going full-size... I'd only buy a Chevy. Looks are important... It's like... I wouldn't buy that Honda ridgline even if it got 100mpg and could FLY! none of that matters if the truck looks like ass...

Also... Apparently you can get better fuel economy at higher elevations... Not sea level... I always thought the opposite myself but a quick google search shows otherwise.

Finally bought new tires and wheels and immediately took it off-road within and hour of getting them installed. Tires are Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 265/70/R17 (almost a 32" tire) and the wheels are the new Sendel S38 Lockers in Matte Gray with black edges. Tires worked great and I was impressed with how quite they are on the highway. For some reason, they look much better in person than they come out on photos.

More info on this mount please. The only other hidden mount I know of with recovery points is the SDHQ. I haven't seen this one yet.

Sorry to be rude. Just not a fan of Chevy, Ford or Ram owners bashing Toyota on a Toyota site. He had a bad truck. Sorry for his luck. Traded it. Good for him. Time to leave the Tacoma forum. I think we read enough down talk from Tacoma owners albeit truthful. He can trash talk Tacoma all he wants on the Chevy site. Just my 2 cents on that topic.
