I used caterpillar bearing mount. It's green and better than blue locktite. I love it. Use it for everything you don't want loose!

Anyone on here drive for uber/lyft? What has your experience been? Looking to make some extra cash in the next few months and can drive in the evenings around South Bay.

A lot of sitting and continually dropping rates for drivers. Lyft was much better than Uber for the short time I did it, FWIW

The only thing I'm curious about is how old the wives are. He is 60 so the wives should all be in that 40-60 range. In these situations there is always a couple in that 16 to 18 age group and in that case he gets to snack on some lead.

Exactly unions were needed when there was zero regulation. Now we have government enforced regulation and unions. Kind of redundant. I get paid better and taken way better care of at my company (non union) than my union counterparts in the industry do. My overall pay is better, my 401k, medical, and dental are better plus i get 3 weeks of vacation a year plus 9 paid holidays. The union electricians at least in this local and the few around get zero vacation, zero paid holidays, and very few get company vehicles. Where as all of our jmen get vehicles and all of the above benefits.

The guys that get hired on with us when we're looking for the most part want to stay employed and work their asses off and pull their weight because it's a great company. Lazy pos guys don't ever last long and get let go pretty quickly. By taking good care of us the boss gets better quality techs and better quality work.

The other issue I've had with the union and prevailing wage is the equal pay. When the only incentive to work is to stay employed the pace slows to the slowest guy. If you have 10 electricians all being paid the same wage and all running around 100' of conduit a day there is no incentive for one to run 200' a day

Now with all this said I know there are crappy companies to work for on the non union side just like there are great union companies to work for but if you are a good tech / installer and underpaid it's no ones fault but your own.

    End of rant lol

I'd say we are pretty successful but we try to stay out of the bay lol no point when you can make money local but then again we are a small industry so that helps. As of like 2011-12 there were only 1000 certified techs state wide for what we do. Also companies like berg electric and royal electric have been pretty damn successful without being union.

That's where the foreman comes into play. You gotta always push to get more done but at the same time know when to back off.
