If I were to do it again I would get a clevis mount and a smaller strap. That way you can fine tune.. It's so hard to guess the stretch.

Hmm, I'll have to look into limit strap placements, I spied a thread on pirate4x4 about this.

Anyone running 16" shocks with the 63s? Would I get the benefits of a 16" shock over a 14"? I understand with 16" shocks that I'd be going through the bed.

I'm running 18's, but I also have the skyjacker 6" lift springs.

Yeah I've read your build quite a bit just doing research on the 63 swap. Nicely done btw. I have the leafs, hangars, u-bolt flip, etc.. Just need to determine the shock length, 16" or 14". I don't mind going through the bed with 16s, just want to know if it is even worth it with 63s vs a SUA setup.

You'll have to wait for someone with stock leafs to chime in on that one. I'm going to guess that 16's will be too much for stock 63's though.

16s will work with the 63s. @Timbo89 and I measured and can even do 18s IIRC. Don't even have to go through the bed for 16s with Ford shock towers

What would the uptravel look like with the Ford towers and 16"? Do you know how much shock shaft shows with your 14s at ride height? Thanks for the input.

Good point, with my 14s I am at 5" up travel and 9" down. With 16s it may give the same uptravel. My shock shaft shows 4.5" at ride height

Going to be doing this very soon and I'm just starting to source parts. Has anyone bought new (OEM or aftermarket) springs instead of a junk yard? Considering this as an option to save some time pulling and prepping if it's worth the coin. Think im going with the 3/1 pack for my bumper/swingouts and gear.

Yeah, i was just checking your build. Saw those online, wondering if they're good or if rusty OEMs would be better. See you'll be wheeling them the 29th?? May wait for your report

They're amazing. You won't be disappointed. Just remove the overload spring before installing them. Otherwise you'll get about 5" of lift in the back
