I have one of these and an E-tool. No axe. Someone else always has an axe. But I do have a nice Gerber tactical tomahawk.

Well now Im going to buy a Marbles axe and a short handle shovel soon smh

Ive been looking into this Zippo Woodsman for my bug out bag. Seems like a fairly well thought out product, and the reviews I have read weren't bad either

I've got the Fiskars X15 too, and the accompanying hatchet X7 in my truck. (I've also got the X27 splitting axe at home, and it's a beast FYI. I love Fiskars stuff. Can't recommend them enough. I went though a 9" pine in under a minute with the X15.)

My shovel is an old german surplus folding shovel/pick. Thing is a tank.

Also good for taking off Yanks heads in the trench.

If I'm going out back I almost always take my Husky 351 too.

For perfect personal length one could buy a wooden regular length shovel. Cut to desired length and top off with generic plastic handle. Per original post I also found store choices to long or short.
    Cheers

Always carry a real shovel, its the "go to first" and most valuable tool when stuck. I also carry an entrenching tool (mini shovel) but about all they are good for is putting your buddy to work too or putting on your pack if you are really fucked and need to make a long overland walk to get out. Axes are for campers and people that want to look cool kitting out their trucks. A bow saw will do 90% of the necessary work with far less effort.
