That sounds good. I should be home (20 minutes west of Charlotte) around 4:30, and can meet you somewhere after that.

Well, that was one of the biggest pain in the rear trans I've ever pulled. I knew going in it was going to suck, and yes it did

You can see the bends at the door/ rocker I'm honestly shocked they separated like that. Putting holes thru the sheet metal is one thing when the full weight is on it but the mounts or body mount bolts shearing like that... I just don't know what to say

Pretty sure there is more to the story, maybe it'll flush itself out.

The pool of oil under and wheel dolly in front of lift, and the fact the driveshaft is missing.

    There's a story here somewhere

I'm imagining them trying to lift the body off the frame (See Paint Prep sign) and accidentally left a body mount bolt or two in place. Resulting in the frame lifting with the body and shearing off. Oil could be from impact of frame falling?

I could be wrong.. been wrong a couple times in my life.

I'm with @Dangerdave. Not sure why they would be doing a frame-off restore of this vehicle, unless the customer was REALLY picky and REALLY loved his truck.
Another possibility was they were adding a body lift kit and that last bolt is a doozy?

Did you drop it down? the two times I've pulled an engine and and trany out the front with rear wheel drive I've removed the shifter for clearance.
    What was the challenge?

BTW, that is a Unicorn Shifter if I ever saw one. You have got to preserve that.

There isn't, I've done a. Lurch in one of those, it's not fun!
You had an advantage using the lift, I was on an asphalt driveway and had the car sitting on sections of tree trunk on end to get it off the ground.
The shit you'll do for rent money when you're young broke and not sober. I got my $$$, guy that owned the car smoked the new clutch in less than a month, has was afraid of the car, rode the clutch to control how fast it went(?!!) it was a fun car to drive :burnrubber:

    Woah! Nice!

@Dragons Taco i didn't even think about installing a body lift. That's a definite possibility.

I'd love to hear the real story.

I can't get my head around this one. If they were removing the body on purpose, why the hell wouldn't you stop when you saw the frame coming off the ground?
Unless they had it in the air and were using a bottle jack to get the lift pucks in. Looks like there are some round things on the floor to the left and right.

Maybe @Blkvoodoo has it right and they lifted the whole thing up by the rockers. Sometimes the simplest explanation is best.

Things like this remind me to not get complacent when doing dangerous things. Over confidence and small mistakes lead to very long days.

I've seen a forklift competition, wonder if there is a vehicle lift competition. You should see @nastyneight get a truck in the air. I think he is training for speed.
