I think the inners are alloy and the outer chrome is polished aluminum.

@Justanotherhemi be safe out there. Mexican prisons and cartel druglords are no bueno.

You might want to check out a few adhesion promoter you can apply before primer, then primer and finally paint. You should be able to find it at a local autoparts store. I looked quickly this morning and only find picture for plastic promoter, but I remember my father was using something before painting aluminum when he was painting cars. Maybe @Casper66 knows something about?

I just watched a video about the FJ summit, but from FSR perspective. Its not really like that haha. Much smaller.

Here is the "camping" area/parking lot. Then everyone splits to groups and hits trails.

clean, sand, clean, etching primer (if aluminum only dust on 1-2 light coats), prime ( if desired but can paint on top of etching primer), sand if you use regular primer, clean, adhesion promoter, and top coat

Painting the wheels is coming along nicely! For the sake of thread organization, I'm going to wait until the end and do a big photo dump. Unfortunately I can only do two wheels at a time, so it'll take a little longer. My driveway isn't perfectly level and I just don't feel comfortable having all 4 wheels off at once.

Nope! Nor the valve stem. It's like permanent tire shine.
