When my wife saw the picture last night she was saying you need to keep a close eye on it because you could end up with a abscess and it may need to be drained.

My problem with with this is the story I tell alot of people, coming from the Navy working in a boiler room,if something breaks, I fixed it. Coming to the unionized oil industry as an operator, if something breaks, I have to tag it and go put in a notification and hope it gets prioritized for maintenance. Had a little 250# steam valve start leaking one day, I'm 100% sure the packing gland just needed tightening and I was more than comfortable doing it, But I was told when I arrived "DONT TOUCH ANYTHING, DONT PUT A WRENCH ON ANYTHING! THAT'S CROSSCRAFT AND YOU'RE STEALING A UNION BROTHER'S JOB!!!??". Ok so I put in a notification. 6 months later because it was ranked as the lowest possible priority rank, that teeny little wisp of steam turned into a jet of steam fuckin 10 feet long and the entire welded in vavle had to be replaced. We were asked why it wasn't prioritized higher, and I told this story. My boss's boss's boss came down and told me "Dude, I know your background, I give you permission to fix shit like that next time". Yes, Sir.

    Wrecked!
I had the same problem ended up some bad make up in a j- box before you buy a new dryer test the plug with a volt meter.
Edit: this also caused overheating of the breaker and caused it to fail. at least my house didn't burn down. dam the non electrician that did the work before me.
they extended the run during a remolded before I bought the house and went from #10 to #12 and back to # 10s under the house.

One issue we just ran into that made me internally rage. Who am i kidding, i bitched like a damn whiny teenager after a few Zimas.

One of our high apprentices whose about to turn Journeyman had a week long class scheduled two weeks ago. Summer is our absolute insane time for work, they wanted him to not work and come to class. We requested an extension and they denied. We requested another extension and made a few phone calls explaining the situation and how they should understand. Hes not trying to skip on the class because it will make him a Journeyman, its just not a good time right now. The union came in the next day and threatened to remove that person from the union completely if he does not go to the class....

You have someone who has spent 5 years working their ass off, up to date on union dues and is a real good employee on our end and a great talented installer. You want to throw him out of the union because you scheduled him during the busiest time of the season and we requested an extension? This is whats wrong with the union.

Guys please take the union discussions outside of TW. Getting too political.

You have to admit though, it's been very respectful and low key. I applaud all for that. And it's not really political when you think about it. Guys gotta work. Guys are gonna bitch about work. We all gotta work to pay for the taco toys. Not arguing, just sayin'...

You're the boss. Damn it. That sounds like work again.

    Break break

Tonight I attack the extended brake lines. Diff and t case oil changes and reinstall skids. If time permits, I'll install proper sized bolts in the rear shocks lower eye. Damn, that sounds like a lot of work for lil ol me. Good thing the wifey will help on occasion. At least with bleeding the brakes.

This kind of thing is true for many industries. For the last three summers, there have been recalls. Big ones. Summer is also our busiest time and warranty doesn't pay either. Or the time required for mandatory classes that are only offered…during the summer.
