EMT-B here, working on a Rural Ambo.

I have no clue who I work for, seems like I have been given 4 different shirts with different logos on them in the last two years. One day, my hat, shirt, and truck all had different names on them. Oh, we are for sale again.

Luckily we haven't had an instance where any person other than the druggie got it (knock on wood).

Anyone being told to "watch how much epi you use" due to a national shortage?

i was meaning that anyone that wants to carry and administer the narcan can get it no problem. even families of high risk individuals can get one at the local pharmacy with a script.

havent heard anything on the Epi shortage?

Oh got ya. Greenville county deputies and police officers carry the Narcan.

South Carolina has allowed the extension of expiration dates on certain lot numbers so the Epi can stay on the truck longer since apparently there is a national shortage.

where is that? whats his theory, not allowing narcan will reduce incidents because people have no life line?

It sounds like he is of the theory, that if you don't treat it, the problem will take care of itself. 20 years ago, we carried 2 doses of narcan on the the truck, now we carry a case. It is crazy.

I don't think we've had the epi shortage, but the glucose shortage hit hard.
