    1. Always carry water with you, more than you think you need, and then bring more than that, no matter where you go; 2. Never go anywhere without a camera/phone for pictures; 3. Don't hike during the summer, even if you are experienced!!
This is a good website, if you'll have your truck on this trip: http://azoffroading.com/arizona-trails/. Apache Trail is a nice long, easy offroad. Crown King (not back way) is a nice, easy offroad that leads to a tiny town with a store, a couple rustic bar/restaurants.
This is monsoon season (heavy downpours and flash-flooding), so be very aware of your surroundings and what you pack with you (I just got stuck and had to be winched out on Saturday :) )
Scottsdale (old town) is a great place to go for dinner/drinks to see and be seen (Salty, R&R, etc). Depends what part of Phoenix you will be in, its a huge city. Happy to help with locations, if you'd like.

    Thanks for the input guys!

Unfortunately, I will only have a rental vehicle. I will mostly be on the south side of Phoenix during the week, then I'm going to head down to Tuscon to visit my sister.

This right here. Every year we have lot's of people die or go to the hospital for heat stroke. Our heat is no joke.

Sedona has an awesome offroad trail. Broken Arrow? And its about 20-30* cooler than the desert.

Grow up Josh, this type of shit is getting old and makes us look immature and unsophisticated.

    Should say:

Stay in the air conditioning and drink SCOTCH!!:D:D

Never been but have intentions to. Have had a group of Texans tell me it is the best they've ever had.

Visit Sedona. Devil's Bridge followed by Oak Creek Brewery is always a recommendation from me.

Little Miss BBQ, best BBQ in Phoenix.

Well if you're here for a week, you can probably meet us on a weekday for beers and food. IF we plan one that week.
