@perkj Do you recall the length of the M6 bolt used?

To be honest I don't know. I used the bolts that Prinsu sent. I assume they are roughly 1/2 - 3/4" in length. You will also want a washer and split washer for them.

Im trying to figure out a more affordable alternative to buying this by building it. Looks like a standard hinge, just need to find a bracket that is similar and should be able to get it for 1/4th the price. Will let you all know if I find something

    Hello Guys,

I just got a Prinsu rack yesterday, from craigslist. It seems that I have one of the older models that come with the standard cross bars. Does anyone know if the screws (Black-Oxide, 1/4"-20 Thread Size, 1" Long) talked about in this thread would fit this crossbar? Thanks in advance.

Awesome thanks! Another question, are the cross bars from the website you linked identical to the ones the Prinsu rack comes with?

Tsolts is a very reputable tsolt company and doesn't claim to be 80/20 so to call them fake 80/20 is fake news.

Don't pay attention to fake 80/20 comment. What I linked is what Prinsu uses on all their current racks

Thanks making this thread. Hopefully we can get some more alternatives for accessories and parts. I should make one specifically dedicated to how to quiet the damn thing down. :frusty:

Would these mount to the cab on a 2nd gen in the stock nutserts under the weather stripping with some spacers?

I Purchased these and am probably going to do the install today but I am very OCD. How noticeable is it when your aware of the height difference?

I'm OCD as well which is why I measured the difference with the CabRac. Without cutting the bracket it will be 1/4" higher. After the making the cut will drop down 1/8" and thus be only 1/8" higher. With the Prinsu supplied brackets on my Snugtop Rebel shimmed to make even it was 3/16" higher.....thus the Smitty with the cut I made got it lower than the Prinsu on my Snugtop Rebel.

Most people won't notice even the 1/4 inch as its very hard to even see that.

Good to know, planning on getting a hacksaw or something today at home depot to let me cut through it. Did you coat it with liner after making the cut?

It'll take some time with a hacksaw to cut all 4 of those. I used an angle grinder with a cut off wheel disk. The other (and better) option would be to use a band saw if you know someone with one. Heck you can even take them a local auto shop, muffler shop, or metal fabricator and have them cut them for you...bring a 12 pack and they'll likely do it for free.

Yes, I masked off and coat with the Rustoleum bedliner after cutting and only sprayed the area exposed from the cut.
