You might be right, now that I think about it. I think it was Chevy who was first doing the 180 degree doors. Ford might have just recently caught on. I haven't had an extended cab since my 2004 Silverado.

The old cellphones I usually find a use for. I use one for an alarm clock, I use another for Torque in the truck.

For an extended cab, I think you're right about the Tundra being the biggest. I love the space I get with the crew cab, I'll never go back. I can stand up and change clothes in the back seat area with both child seats in place. It's awesome.

I've had a full 8' bed, a 6 1/2' and now the 5'. If carrying 4 x 8 sheets or a lot of 8' lumber is a regular occurrence, then a full size bed is the only way to go. I found less of a difference between a 6 1/2 to 5' bed. Both have material stick out. For the Tacoma, I put 2 x 6's across in the bed pockets and added cleats on each to allow a 4 x 8 sheet to remain centered on them. I then added auxiliary tailgate cable mounts that hold the tailgate at the same height as the 2 x 6's. So far so good.

The fold back door is nice when combined with the fold up rear seat in the F150. It gives a fairly large flat floor. That's one thing I really like about them when I looked at them last summer - the floor is completely flat in the back of the cab.

Yup. With an old smart phone and free cell service from Freedom Pop, it can even be used as an inexpensive LoJack.

Yeah, if you look at manufacturer legroom measurements it's supposedly not, but I don't know where they arrive at those numbers because it is obviously larger than any I've seen.

I don't have kids and don't plan on any, so a crew cab is wasted room for me.

The only feature I'd like from the CrewMax Tundra is the power roll down rear window. That is fantastic. The double cab limited has a power one too, but it's only the center section like on the Tacoma.

Personally I'm not crazy about a rear slider or opening rear window. I have one on the '84 and had one on the '99 and the '10 Tacoma's, but whenever they're open everything loose & light in the bed blows into the cab. The only time I really open the one on the '84 is to run the cord for the plow beacon through it for the winter.

Having the cap is nice. I can open the rear window so I get the air flow but nothing from the bed comes into the cab.

I have a tonneau cover, so that solves that problem.

Yeah, that would probably minimize the vortex

What I wish they'd bring back would be vent windows. I'd rather have those over a rear slider in a modern vehicle any day of the week.

Didn't you just say like a week ago you would get a Tundra first for full size? And then a Chevy 1500 next....? Did the Titan get some new features since then?

I don't know where you're coming up with "a lot" from. I'm having a hard time finding many 5.7 failures in general.

Work at a dealer the 5.7 fails often between 80-100k with timing issues. Valves hitting pistions, rod bearing failure, wrist pin failures.
